These are my favorite, you will hear people say that these socks are terrible, and that they fall apart, but these are also people that are going on 30 mile backpacking hikes, and getting angry that it didn't survive.

Temper your expectations, these are very comfortable, just regular socks, and like any sock they do wear out after a couple of years

Not all socks do, but I mean my God these cost next to nothing, hard to argue against them

Purchased a set back in December my husband and I literally fight over them, ordered 2 more sets. I do turn them inside out, wash in cold water and hang dry, love them.

There are some questionable 10rep accounts with barely any comments in their history… commenting on unbranded socks like they're the deal of the century. Gotta love slickdeals

I purchased the last deal of socks for $5 BUT I'll be that guy and let everyone know this seller has a lifetime feedback rating of 93%

There's 2 choices with wools socks, either $20/pair socks from smartwool/darn tough/etc or $3/pair from Costco/chinese. $20 socks supposedly have a lifetime warranty, but you have to pay to ship them and you can get six $3 socks for the price of a $20 sock, so it might take a lifetime to ever break even on the darn tough socks.

Another thing about wools socks is don't wash them with Tide/Persil. Tide uses enzymes designed to break down animal protein-based fibers. Use cheap surfactant only based detergent (Gain/Ultra/Arm&Hammer/etc). Because of that, I do a seperate load for just wool socks. It takes 20-30 pairs to make up a small or medium load. 20 pairs of darn tough would be an outlay of $400 whereas chinese socks would be $60.

$3 socks are hit or miss; just accept it. How you care for them and use them also affects how big of a miss they are. I have 3 brands of wool socks. The Costco ones are the worst. I started getting wool fluff leftover in the wash after I added Costco socks to my rotation. They also have the most thread/elastic band unraveling. The other chinese brands are actually as good as new even though I've had them longer.

Wool doesn't fare well with heat. This is the way to go. I also put all my wool socks into a laundry bag. This way I have em all in one place and can easily take em out and hang them to dry.

They are about the same. These are rebranded by a few different sellers and all sourced from the same plant "funtoes" "happy toes" etc. The work well and will last about a year with regular use.

I work 12hr days on the railroad and wear these regularly as cotton sucks just cause more problems than they are worth. These paired with some zinc oxide powder 3 days a month prevent crusty foot odor and keep athletes foot at bay

while costco socks are great, theyre not merino wool and are mostly made by materials not as great for warm and moisture retention

When I could get them Costco wool socks were at one time my first choice. But the quality varied. I do not regret paying substantially more for U.S. made Darn Tough whose wool content varies by model. I found exactly what I need for specific applications in a variety of weights, cushioned and non-cushioned. Hiker and Tactical in several versions. Comfort healthier feet with no odor socks that fit right and keep their shape and a lifetime warranty that is actually honored are deciding factors for me.
