Who the hell would make outdoor lights that are only partly waterproof.
Q: Is the power adapter waterproof?
A: The power adapter of the patio lights is not waterproof. The string lights part is waterproof.

I agree, their outdoor lights have always been like this. Makes no sense. However, I have built myself a cover for them with a simple ziplock bag. I stick the adapter in it, zip it up and close the cable gaps with duct tape with the openings facing down. Has worked for years, but really shouldn't be necessary.
What is the difference between the two 48' sets besides the second costing $1.30 more? And who is buying 48' 15 light instead of 50' 25 light for the same price? So strange.

I purchased these the last time they were on sale for the same amount a few weeks back. Not only did the set I got completely not work, but even if it did I would have returned it because it just felt very cheap. I prefer lights with clear glass enclosures and this was a cheap plastic that had a frosted look to it. On top of it, as someone else pointed out, the power adapter is not waterproof, so you have to jerry rig something to make it work outdoors which is idiotic. I would not recommend this set at all.
Am I the only one that prefers bulbs 2' on center? 3'+ O.C. makes your nice line path just look like you have a mass of bulbs floating over you instead of nice clean lines designating some semblance of thought.
I am thinking on getting the 15 string version to place the 10 for $2 100w equivalent led floodlights from Lowe's in to illuminate a lake. I would build a support to angle them. Wondering if these units have a standard base and whether they would handle the combined wattage. ….. looks like NO … will seek out other string lights ….
"No, these aren't standard sockets where you can replace them bulbs. The bulbs are non removable."

I had the same question and then, I looked both, it seems like the 48ft-15 bulbs and 50ft-25 bulbs are different. The 50ft-25 bulbs are small and round, compared to the typical I used to buy from Costco elongated one which 48ft-15 bulb string has.
So in short 48ft-15 bulb string has bulb shape S14 bulbs and 50ft-25 bulb string is G40 bulbs.
My question is, has anyone used these with low voltage 12v wiring?

I feel like too many of you are hanging these from 4x4 posts just dug in your yard and less from a covered balcony. One thing I don't miss seeing in Miami were those ghetto backyard string lights lol

Cool story bro, but there are literally no or rather very few outdoor lights that have a waterproof power connection. you know all those outdoor christmas ligths everyones been using for decades? yah same deal, the connections are not technically waterproof.

Right! If you have concerns about the plug, pick up a waterproof cover for the outlet. They are like $10 at the big box store.
