Bought this last time… waste of money… it's cool to watch it grow but if you're doing this to eat… it really only grows on one side even tho it says it's two sided. And you hardly get any mushrooms it's more for a fun gardening-science kinda thing.

Funny I don't see the comment before me.... cool to see this here. These are decent novelty kits, and roots is a decent company, you can find find them at walmart, and I think the home centers like Home depot, or menards.

Oysters produce a lot of spores so if you have allergies I would avoid. Hard to not do indoors this time of year, unless you live in a warmer climate.... fortunately oyster mushrooms like cooler temps in the 60's.

The last time I did this I got two harvests and about 3 omeletts worth of mushrooms, about the same as you'd get in the store for $8 (at least at current prices).... For bonus points I inoculated a bale of hay... And got more mushrooms. I just bought two of these... for gits and shiggles.

In Colorado it is no longer be a criminal offense under state or local laws to possess or use "natural medicine" for people over 21. That includes psilocybin, psilocyn, DMT, ibogaine and mescaline. (The law will not, however, allow for mescaline extracted from peyote.)

Growing psychedelic mushrooms and certain other plants or fungi also will be allowed, as long as it's done at a private residence and the plants are kept away from people under 21. It is legal to transport, process and give away the drugs to others, as long as it's for "personal use" and no payment is made.
