I have photo and designer. The usability is a bit weird and different from other similar apps. I find it counter intuitive and frustrating. It seemed like a good deal and alternative to Photoshop and illustrator, and I don't use any of the advanced features, but it's still frustrating. Simple things like cropping are just weirdly implemented with their bizarre philosophy.
Being a hobbyist photographer/designer, Adobe lost me when they went subscription based. I'm not generating income on personal use/projects so I can't justify subscribing. I had one of the last Creative Suites that you could actually buy a license for, but as I upgraded Mac OS I'm now unable to use them. Willing to give Affinity a shot!
I have Affinity photo and regret purchasing it. People compare it to photoshop but Affinity is not very user friendly like others already mentioned here.

There is a long thread going back 5 years about the cropping thing. What boggles my mind is nobody from Affinity has made a statement about this on the thread. It's such a basic feature, many free photo editing apps have it.

Same. I find the usability difficult and a challenge to get the hang of.

Honestly I don't think Photo has enough to justify an upgrade. I bought, but mostly because I wanted to add Designer and Publisher.

The header of this page shows the original price at $399. Unless I'm missing something obvious, that is not accurate; their web site is showing the Affinity V2 Universal License for $169.99.

To each his or her own. I find these programs to be far more intuitive than anything Adobe ever published.

This deal has been going on since the intro of version 2… I took advantage in November. They'll probably go back to regular pricing in 48 hours (they've been saying this was a limited time offer). Overall, I've been happy with my purchase. Being able to use the three programs on my iPad and Mac Mini is great, and on the road with my Lenovo laptop is a good bonus. It's more than adequate for my semi-professional needs and a whole lot less than Adobe equivalents.

I have been using Affinity Designer and Photo for 2 years or so. I have found them to be a tremendous value. Not without their issues, but $10 a month for Adobe had to end. I miss lightroom, but Photo vs PS does just about everything I need. As for Designer, it is their vector app for those looking for a Illustrator replacement. Here I come from CorelDRAW and while CD is more capable IMHO, it does 90% of what I need. I have workarounds for much of the rest including my old copy of CorelDRAW x7. For those that want a free option, Inkscape can't be beat, but Designer I think is more user friendly for noobies. Do yourself a favor when switching from Adobe, watch some Youtube tutorials. Things are a littler different.

I bought Affinity. It's not expensive, but I just don't have the time to learn how to use it like Photoshop.

FYI previous deals of V1 were often $25 a piece on sale for the individual license.

I have all 3 of V1.

I use Affinity along with LUMINAR products on a professional level for my business. They've all worked fine for my needs after a slight learning curve.

Agreed. I'm a web developer and have to do a lot of design work. I have both the Affinity tools- which I pay for- and the Adobe Suite, which I get from work. For what it's worth, I originally trained in GIMP.

I find Affinity tools, by far, to be the most intuitive. I'm surprised to see so many negative comments.
