As I said, it is rare to find a deal on this brand. Whether or not you find this brand a good value for you is completely irrelevant. I like this brand of coffee enough to set a deal alert for it.

These cans are nitrogen filled and sealed. There's an audible "woosh" sound when you open one up. This will help keep freshness for sometime.

Good coffee but I wish the inside edge of the container wasn't razor sharp or I'd buy it and reuse the container to replace the mason jar I currently use to store my coffee beans. I typically keep 6 oz or so in the jar and vacuum seal the rest.

Anyone knows how usually fresh these are? I'm afraid of getting stale beans

Illy is so overhyped. Bland coffee without manufacturing date. Btw., these tins are around €6 in Europe, but incredibly overpriced in the US. Brand power is everything, I guess.
It's the same with espresso machines. European brands are being sold in the US for usually 50-100% more than in Europe - and prices in Europe already include sales tax…

I would expect it to be fresh enough. But at $12.46 a pound... I find this a bit pricey.

Also, do you think you would notice the difference between beans that were packaged last week vs beans that were packaged last year. I personally would not notice the difference.

I buy my coffee when I go on vacation. Right now I am sitting on 20lbs of beans from Costa Rica. And before I had about 30lbs of beans from Honduras. I can tell you that the first cup that I had tasted just as good as my last cup (two years later).

Per Google....The current price of coffee is $17.200 per pound as of October 28, 2022.

Am I the only one who is in sticker shock?

Ha, this is the coffee in United airlines uses. Damn commercial runs every hour... It awakened my dad's senses when he had it, guess that's what happens when you come from a Keurig.

Well, for espresso I usually try to use as fresh as possible so it makes good crema for lattes. Also, $12/pound is definitely not expensive. Lately, I've been buying $17-$18 for 12oz from local coffee shops/roasters. I'm afraid it's the new normal.

If by Europe you primarily mean UK tea is more popula therer so less demand for coffee and lower prices.

Just came back from Costa Rica with 22lbs (now have 20lbs) of whole bean coffee. I feel I overpaid at $6.33 per lbs. I purchased it at Walmart, thinking I would most likely get a competitive price. And yes, the coffee is delicious. But my favorite region for coffee is Honduras and I am going their in about 2 weeks.

I also make myself a coffee latte every day with 2 - 4 shots. Don't care about the crema, all I care about is the taste.
Cool story bro
