Signify slower. You're splitting 1 USB to 4 ports.

The fact that it says you have an on/off switch to prevent over charging is worrying

This is just an add on to the original docks usb port. The bricking issue was long time back was due to cheap docks / usb dongles for display out, which was frying the usb c ports.

Likely not faster, probably slower. It plugs into a single USB port on the front and divides the current by 4. The built in chargers are probably wired individually.

I dunno, output says 9 watts, and the TV Dock seems to charge Joycons in 3 hours per comments on Reddit and that's for 2 controllers. I seriously doubt you can charge Joycon controllers at more than 2.5 watts anyway, meaning this is likely no slower than the Switch itself.

I know awhile back there was the whole "only use Nintendo docks or risk bricking the console" fiasco. Has that all been fixed?

Oh I see this is an attachment to the dock nevermind

I wouldn't believe specs provided by random Chinese Company A selling good on Amazon. Remember when Nintendo Switches were bricking using name brand?
Not worth the risk for myself with a gen 1 Switch.
This isn't a dock. It's just a USB charger for Joycons that runs off the OEM Switch dock. Not sure what risk you think there is?

The Switch doesn't receive any power from this.

This will charge faster at 2hrs instead of 3 1/2hrs on switch. Comments above saying it'll be slower because it's 4 devices to one usb is missing the point. It all depends how many watts/amps the charger will deliver and what the joycon will accept.

Also think about this the dock has to charge the unit plus the joycons and it's alot cheaper and safer for the switch to charge them slowly. Therefore it makes sense a dedicated charging device would be faster than through the switch itself.
