Better - can be connected via Bluetooth so you don't have to use the little receiver (but still can if you prefer).

This is my all-time favorite mouse!
Is this better/worse/same than previous m570 model?
Just wanted to mention these help so much more than vertical mouses. I still felt pain in my wrist from using a vertical mouse but I got one of these years ago and it's so much better. It's different on how you use it and definitely not for gaming but ideal for normal use and office work

Personal preference, I'm not a fan of thumb-controlled trackballs. The thumb doesn't offer as fine motor control as the fore and middle fingers.
I use a Kensington big ball finger one at home, and a Logi thumb one at work with the adjustable angle. I don't notice a difference in control in day-to-day tasks, but I use a vertical mouse if I need one for gaming.

There is a difference in comfort, but I think it depends on your desk setup. I don't have a keyboard tray at work, and find the thumb version much more comfortable when my forearm rests on the desk. At home, my under desk tray keeps the trackball lower than my wrist, so I can keep my elbow on my armrest and hang my hand above the ball.

I still use my Logitech T-BB13 from like 20 years ago... still work! Is this one better or my trackball is gem and I should cherish my ownership? (Oh, and I use it a lot as I am a scholar a state university). :-)

I have two of the M570's and they had the issue with the buttons...but i saw a video on Youtube and was able to fix them pretty easily by just opening it up and spraying wd40 on the switches. now they r good as new

Good deal! I called Target to price match. Additional 5% off for red card
Had a chat with target but they refused to price match stating that they were discounted at both sides and Target price match excludes discounted items

Edit: Called target online and they price matched

I have been tempted to try the trackball mouse because of desktop space saving. One question about scroll wheel of this particular mouse: does it support free wheel scroll (when you just spin the wheel for fast scroll)? TIA for the info.
no free scroll

I know it takes 10 minutes on average to price match via phone. But if you have the time, call again and one of the reps will match it.

Obviously this is a personal choice. I've been using the thumb version for more than 20 years, including for A LOT of gaming, including FPS. I prefer it a mile over finger...I never could get used to that. Finger might be better for precision drawing over a thumb though, but I don't do that kind of thing...more thumb "flinging"...if that makes sense.
Agreed!! There is a reason the finger trackballs are long gone! My dad got the finger Trackball... was it called Trackman? It was terrible compared to the thumb operated (it did look pretty cool). I'm sure it's a thing of preference.

Honestly, the thumb trackballs are superior for gaming... turning around and aiming quickly. For work, I rock a typical mouse. I got at least 3 types of the Logitech thumb style (including wired). I need another one cause I seem to have misplaced the dang USB dongle on one.

If you want to keep people off your computer... have a thumb trackball!!! They hate it if they never used it!! lol

Yes, they refused to price match the $30 best buy LG. I guess I could try calling.

Ergo plug is $90 but it is high quality compared this. Been using that for 5 years now and 22 on the trackballs.

I've actually seen reviews that placed more preference on m570, rather than this new model.

Thanks for these. Using a trackball resolved my RSI and are convenient for remote usage (don't need a surface to move against) which works well in combination with my standing desk.

The downside is that the mouse wheels start to creak or skip and the left click can start to phantom click after about 2 years light usage or 8-months intensive usage.

I did repair a few just for fun... aftermarket switches are definitely more robust (but the ones I picked up were also a bit louder) but at this price I'll just consider it a consumption-good and replace them semi-regularly.

I have 2 of these. Both of them began to have the double click issue after one year.
