I used the lids you are referring to and purchased 6.5 gallon buckets. You can store a lot of stuff in them. I have one for dog food and one for bird seed. Keeps other critters out.

For a comparison, this 15 lbs container is ~4.5 gallons. You can also buy their lids that snap onto 5 gallon containers for about $10. Cost of a food-safe 5 gallon container is ~$5, so at 40% off this thing would be a pretty decent deal (and look better than a bright orange HD bucket).
