This is the qN85b. I believe you are talking about the q80b when you are speaking of your own TV. They use different technologies.
One is QLED (Q80B), the other is Neo QLED (QN85B). Hence the Q, and QN.

There are a lot of differences between these two TVs but...

Main difference between the two is brightness, and so contrast as well. If you are placing the TV in a brighter room, or are watching more in the day time, I would recommend this qN85b.

So if you can afford it AND can tell the difference, get the QN85B.

I spent quite a bit of time looking for these claims as well between the 90B vs 85B series. I would say that for smaller sizes, 75" and under, the claims about poorer contrast may be valid for the 85B series. However, at 85", where it uses a VA panel, the same type in the 90B, the differences may only come down to brightness. I haven't found many reviews comparing the 85" sizes between the two series, mainly the comparisons are done with a 65" so it's not fair to say the 85" 90B vs 85" 85B would have all the disadvantages reviews are mentioning about the 85B. The only visible difference would be the screen finish between the two series, the 85B has a semi-gloss surface with a colorless coating whereas the 90B has an anti-reflection coating that has the rainbow effect which is better at rejecting ambient light. The screen coating really comes down to buyer's preference and where the TV would be placed. With that said, I would suggest getting the 90B model for sizes 75" and under and for 85", it's up to you to decide if $300 price difference is worth the extra brightness.

Thanks! It was OOS yesterday, went in and checked and it was back in stock. Though delivery is now March 3. Still $700 cheaper than BB Amazon or Costco.

Question from anyone who's ordered a tv from Samsung before, does the delivery service they use drop off the box in room of choice or do they actually open the box and put it on the stand? I would think since it' didn't have white glove box option they only drop off the box inside the house downstairs? I just scheduled a deliver and too bad they don't deliver on Saturdays

Also for anyone buying a tv, 2 year protection is essentially given away free if you use chat and ask. They will send you a link to use for checkout that will give the tv price and the added protection for free

Tell the rep that price you are getting with EPP discount and they will prepare the cart with that price plus Free Samsung Care+. At least thats what they did for me. So once the link comes back you will see same price with care+ added to cart.
