Sam's Club has for its Members: 1750-Count Q-tips Cotton Swabs on sale for $6.84. Shipping is free for Plus Members, otherwise shipping varies by location.
Thanks to Community Member babgaly for finding this deal.
I have both and go to both but I find myself at Sam's much more often than Costco. Both have pros and cons, but Costco's online presence is one of the worst for any large chain store.
No in-store pickup, no store price check, no inventory check online, no scan and pay, etc. They also charged for shipping the last time I checked.
They have more pros if you're in the store already, but this is 2023. They're so far behind everyone else.
And another thing!
Sams has scan and go. Costco doesn't. This is enough to keep my Sams membership.
Lines at both clubs can be hideous. So with Sams, at least I can mostly skip them.
But Costco doesn't even offer in-store pickup though. I have both membership BTW.

Absolutely valid point, but for me it's more about Sam's trying to set a precedent. I don't like being nickel and dimed by corporations making billions.
Not seeing your issue, free shipping and no extra nickel and dime charges.
I guess you are ok with corporations shrinking food packaging and giving you less and charging you dollars more.
What about the government printing billions of dollars and giving it away costing everything you buy to cost more as the fiat dollar loses value.
I have a nickel you can have oh wait that nickel is now worth more than .05 cents because of the metal content.
I have a Costco membership. Bought 4 tires at a great price and it includes free rotation for the tires. Just the rotations I do twice a year pays for the membership.
... TiresPlus (aka firestone) matches costco/sams and beats their price... and rotate / balance for free. FYI. Also for $180 to $200 tiresplus/firestone has lifetime alignment (just avoid having them do other repairs they 'find')
Costco charging for shipping is very much item dependent. For the most part shipping is free.
this isn't technically true. costco often charges less for the same item in store, so while shipping is 'free,' you're paying for it in the higher price of whatever you're purchasing.
I have both memberships. shipping and curbside benefits with Sams have me spending more money there lately, although I prefer costco...and Kirkland products can't be beat.
Good deal, but Sam's charging a membership fee, then insultingly trying to charge an additional $4 fee for pickup orders has single-handedly made me decide to move to Costco when it opens in my area next year.
If pickup is that important to you, just upgrade to PLUS membership. For me, and like others here have stated, Scan-and-Go is priceless. Shop, scan, pay in app, and go.
Personally, I don't use pickup. I prefer to shop and pick my items myself. Curious why you choose Pickup instead of just shopping for your items yourself?

Scan and go and self checkout requires no additional employees for Sam's, allowing them to increase profit and reduce costs by making me their de facto employee. I have no issue with either service, but don't try to charge me for pickup unless you're going to pay me for my time while checking out in store.
The irony of individuals on a site called Slickdeals having a strange desire to support shady capitalistic business practices that cost them more money is not lost on me.

It must be difficult to be you. For me, Scan and Go and self checkout are conveniences that actually save ME time. My time is worth more to me than the few dollars Sam's Club may or may not be saving by me doing their job for them (more or less your words, not mine).
Costco, on the other hand, would rather you stand in mile long lines while unmotivated cashiers slowly scan carts overflowing with toilet paper and cases of water while I have just a few things and wish to get on my way.
If Sam's Club is saving some money with Scan and Go, then good for them. Hopefully it will help them keep prices down instead of raising them when their other costs go up.
Oh, given your politics on this, I assume you either don't drive or drive an electric car, because pumping your own gas saves the mega-profit oil companies billions by not having to have the extra employees do it for you while at the same time raising gas prices when the slightest little thing causes even a minute disruption in gas supplies? Just curious...

Is there a reason someone having a different opinion than you is is offending you to such a degree you need to start making negative assumptions about that person to defend your viewpoint?
Costs have increased across the board despite quality customer service decreasing, meanwhile corporate profits are through the roof. Some people are okay with companies taking advantage of them, others are not.

I'm not offended at all. Just trying to understand your logic, but you didn't address anything I asked so I really don't care. (and all my assumptions about people don't need to be positive, do they?)

I totally agree!!!! Costco's website SUCKS!!!!!!!!! I HATE HATE HATE that you can't find out the STORE price VS ONLINE price withOUT going INTO the store!!! It is CRAZY that their store price varies by $3-$20 PER ITEM from their online price. Once I priced vanilla extract online & it was $20 online, but $12 in the store. There is just NO REASON for them NOT to DISCLOSE that. Sam's Club's site tells you the in-store VS shipped price. I hope it doesn't change!!! I literally decide if I am going into the store or buying online because the show the pricing for BOTH on their site. I would HATE if I did not have that info easily accessible FROM HOME.
What keeps us having BOTH memberships is that Costco has organic produce, frozen fruits/veggies, etc that are either the same price or close to the same price as the conventional produce, etc at Sam's. Sam's just does not have many organics, which is why we have both memberships. On the flip side, Costco has some products that are crazy expensive because they ARE organic & don't offer a conventional alternative (like white vinegar), which we do not have the financial ability to buy everything organic, so we have to pick & choose which products to buy in organic. For those, we go to Sam's. Another let down with Costco is they do NOT take Discover Card in the store... they take it online though.
Our cash back we earn at Sam's having the plus membership all but pays the full cost of the membership for us. The membership usually costs us about $5-10 for the year, after the cash back bonus. We purchased two sets of tires from Costco recently, so we upgraded to the higher grade membership there to see if we can make it work for us to get that membership cheaper too. If not, we will go back to their basic one. If Sam's carried more organics & Costco carried less (or at least offered an alternative) & took Discover, we would go down to just one membership.

Hey man please keep the comment section relevant. This is about Costco vs Sams not the cotton swabs this deal was posted for.

I have both memberships too, Sam's wins me over most of the time. Can't beat the Scan n Go and smaller crowds.
