This is sort of true. The general consensus is that the movies Resurrection F and Battle of Gods are higher quality animation plus they were the first new Dragonball in years.

The first 28 episodes of DB Super are re-treading the same plot but they do have some good Dragonball "filler" as well as some little pieces of story that set up the next two story arcs. The movies didn't have those.

If you're a hardcore fan, watch them all!
It gets a bit absurd even by Dragonball standards, but it's entertaining and the story draws you in. Definitely worth watching at least once.
$40 bucks for (current) digital complete series is solid. I'm more of a physical collector, but good for those who prefer digital.

You can skip the first two seasons since it's just the two movies played out pretty much.

ugh started buying on amz with no-rush credits (they're forcing like a five minute delay between being able to apply to another purchase i guess??) before realizing they're only the dub, and went back and canceled them all

Super is a downgrade imo. Endless powerups without any substance. Still, I enjoyed it to some degree. I do wish they continued the pace of DBZ.

I came to ask that if the quality of dub is good. I saw the last 2 movies in theaters here in US in English and they were fine.
