I have 3 lines on the unlimited $55 plan and pay $90 in total for all 3 lines with the discount, if i get this A53 and put it in the $60 as it is required to get discount on this phone on this same account, will this mess up the discount I have for the 3 current lines?

Need to port in a number to qualify.

Metro has a much better deal at $99.99 (new line) and $49.99 (port in) + one/first month fee of $40. Unlock automatically in 6 months.

Yeah better than this one since $60 required fee for first month should be added to the cost of the phone since otherwise can't check out, so more like $190 and for unlock only after 6 months of ACTIVE service on Cricket.

Got a Moto G Stylus 5G from Cricket and I'm on Cricket, about a year ago.

I will never buy another carrier-branded phone again, and I will never buy another Motorola phone. Cricket forced the update to Android 12, even though I disabled automatic updates, always denied when it asked, and even disabled some of the system apps that were supposed to be in charge of updates, required using adb tools and USB debugging with a PC. Massive hassle, and they still shoved the update through anyway, and as expected, it broke many system functions and made the phone unstable and basically useless.

My recommendation: never buy a carrier phone (at least not from Cricket), and don't buy Motorola. I've had nothing but trouble from the last 3 Motorola phones I've owned, this most recent one being the worst because it was Cricket branded. It sucks because Motorola used to make excellent budget phones 5+ years ago, but that's where we're at.

I have a brand new (NON-carrier) Samsung Galaxy A14 5G on my desk right now that I'll be switching over to. Fingers crossed Samsung hasn't gone down the drain too.

samsung hav bunch of useless software loaded.
carrier branded phones are CHEAP. How much you paid for a non-carrier A14 5G vs a metro branded? Metro branded is $40 including 1 month service.

tossing this out there.. I have been able to buy 2 Galaxy S20 FEs on ebay in great shape for $120 each in the last month.. having tested out this phone.. the S20FE has a much better camera, premium feel/look and feels a lot faster. Its also 5G and unlocked from the get go.

I'm thinking of buying an A53 from Total for my mom. Based on your comment, should I wait and see if price drops?

The A54 has already been shown and its release is imminent.
The A53 was released in February/March 2022. It should also have updates all the way to Android 16.
I fully expect it to drop in price in the next few weeks.
