Mafia 2 (2010) is a classic; generally its ports have great reviews. But this Definitive Edition was initially met with criticism because it was riddled with bugs. Game breaking issues and major bugs have since been fixed.
Most who took issue with this game:
- played right after release, and spent more money, when it was "broken"
- played it on a previous system, and are rating the port rather than the game contents
Still, some insist it's not a great port, e.g. characters look different (eyes, skin colors, etc. compared to the original), and animation glitches (like clothing). Frame rate or game performance do not seem to be an issue.
For $5 you're getting a ton of fun content, and a huge ~50gb download, so be aware of that.
I personally bought it with confidence. You'll need to decide what's important to you.
