I am currently wearing the same black baselayer shirt that is posted in this deal (which i bought from the last deal), and it is really high quality. It can very easily be worn alone and not as a baselayer. The interior is very soft and comfortable -- it's nothing like the material on the outside of the shirt with the perforations. For the price, it's an excellent buy, IMO. I would just note, Spyder's sizes run similar to Columbia. I find them to be a little bigger than shirts from other companies. I'm 6', 145lbs. Due to my height, in some clothes if I get a medium, they are tight around my armpit area. However, that is not the case with Spyder (and Columbia). A medium fits much better. Just figured I'd mention this in case other people are kind of between sizes -- i would go with the smaller size if that is the case for you.

Excellent price. I bought a few pairs. The one downside relative to UA baselayers is these are all polyester rather than a blend which includes elastene.

These will fit to adhere to your skin, to prevent drafts. These are not 'shirts,' they are base layers and meant to serve as underclothing. So the L will adhere to you in a way you wouldn't want a collared shirt to, so you could wear an L collared shirt over the Spyder baselayer.
