You preemptively replaced the handles and latches or did they develop a problem?

The latches only lasted about 20 days of use. The problem with the latch is it slightly bends inward so the rubber latch takes all the force of the lid slamming. I just replaced it with a metal adjustable latch which I prefer to rubber cooler latches. The plastic handle on the rope really isn't made to handle the weight of a fully loaded cooler. I think I was losing pieces around the 15-20ish days and just replaced them with some PVC pipe and grip tape around day 30.

So they definitely developed the problem. If you didn't load the cooler full or are good at slowly closing the lid so the latches won't bend at a weird angle you'd get more use out of them.

Reading the reviews on their site it appears they don't sell any parts so if you lose a latch you will need to figure out a replacement on your own.

The thin rope on the handles definitely looks undersized... Will pass - spending $120 on a medium cooler I don't want to be buying a "project"...

The roto molded body is on par with a Yeti. It's a high quality cooler. The rope is solid but the plastic grip on the rope definitely is not made to handle the weight. It took me about 20 minutes to replace the latches and handles (still using original rope) for a savings of $200-$300.
Also, it's less likely someone will steal a "medium" cooler off your trailer when you run into a store or stay at a hotel.

What latch did you use to replace? I'd like to do the same.

Like others have asked, are you able to share pics and what you replaced everything with? Sorry to make you work for it, but I'm curious about a good cooler and am familiar with Monoprice ones, but no clue on what to add and how much it will cost vs trying to find a gently used one off FB marketplace. Thanks in advance.

I just had some toggle latches laying around so that's what I used. They are just the cheap adjustable ones off Amazon.

The cooler is in storage so I don't have access to it at the moment. If you are careful with the cooler I'm sure you could make the original latches last. Originally I was going to put cupboard bumpers behind the latches to keep the lid from closing on them, but never got around to it. I got a second cooler on this deal and I'll likely wait till it's necessary to refurb the latches/handles. The parts would cost you around $10
