There are websites that help explain the logo differences and what they mean as far as makeup. Generally, if the logo is all caps it's borosilicate and if it's all lowercase it's soda lime glass (the kind that "explodes."
Both types have their benefits, you just need to know which you have so you can treat it properly. The newer tempered glass ones are much stronger against physical damage, but are susceptible to shattering from extreme temperature variations.

Not a lot of information on this set on Walmart's website. I'm a fan of Pyrex stuff, in general, but all of my Pyrex was made in USA. Not clear where this is made. Some of the reviews suggest overseas (China). Also, there are a BUNCH of reviews that complain about the glass dishes shattering in the oven… even when put in at room temp. There are so many reviews about Pyrex dishes shattering on Walmart's website, I think you can't ignore it.
The above said - this would be a great deal, but there are numerous complaints about cracked lids and dishes shattering in the oven.

DANGEROUS PRODUCT
Bought this three piece set. Brought home and washed the 9x13 and built a wonderful Green Bean Casserole. All the ingredients except the crackers were precooked and warm. Placed in a 350F oven and within 10 minutes the pan literally exploded. Went to Pyrex website and filed a warranty claim form. Have heard nothing from them. As stated in many other posts, these are extremely dangerous. The shattered glass went into another casserole (one of the smaller ones with the package) and the cleanup was just as dangerous.See less

Unless it's made from borosilicate glass it's garbage. Most Pyrex made today is just tempered glass.
hmm. I didn't realize there were two types of pyrex. I've got a few sets at home. Is it labeled on each item? I know one of the sets, we got an identical set for my MIL. When she opened it, one piece exploded on her. I'm guessing that was tempered glass.

FYI it's possible to get glass that says "pyrex" but lids that say "PYREX". I just picked up a set at a yard sale last weekend at this is the case, so ALWAYS look at the lettering in the glass itself. I'm going to keep it for storage, not baking as I've had a pan explode and ruin a nice roast.

I wouldn't call taking a pan out of the oven and putting it on the stovetop an "extreme temperature variation". This happened to me and is actually a common scenario under which the pans explode.
