I have the odyssey G9 and got it for the same price 850 but I haven't completed my build yet so I haven't used it yet

Samsung supposedly has more QC issues. Has some small gamer centric features (ex: on screen aiming reticle). The local dimming and HDR are crap on the Samsung but the Samsung is far far brighter (up to 1000 nits or exceeding, even in SDR, because its not edge lit. Caveat is that you have to turn on the local dimming to get it that high, but it's relatively bearable in SDR. Even without it on, can get very bright).
LG only hits 400 nits. Bright enough for most, but if you want retina searing highlights or you're in a sunny room, Samsung wins there, easily. It's also nice for media. Edge lit could mean worse backlight variation on the LG, which is a common issue.
Stand for Samsung is not great, but works ok. LG is slightly better. LG has some more home office centric features, including 90W USB-C PD, which is good for a dual purpose setup. Samsung doesn't have speakers, LG does.Don't know the curvature rating for either, if that's important.
You'd have to dig into the specs, but the PS5 refuses to use VRR or 120hz on my CRG9. Don't have a xbox series x to test with, but it works flawlessly on PC. PS5 1440p is still messed up, so that's kind of a wash, but the Samsung can downscale a 4K signal from the PS5. I've never tried to use a Mac with VRR on it, so can't vouch for that on this or the LG. LG more likely to have compatibility with strictly VRR implementations though, which are more common on non-gaming setups.
TL;DR get LG for color and/or office work, if you just prefer IPS, and/or you want USB C (and charging). For the lower price and regular usage, doesn't really matter either way and the CRG9 is better for a lot of games due to the higher contrast, and the high brightness.
P.S. Samsung is releasing the new Odyssey Neo G9 (QD VA + dense mini LED array that has actual good local dimming, like the current Odyssey Neo G9 (but not the original Odyssey and the CRG9) and a 4k resolution with 57" screen.
Still delayed due to Samsung cutting their OLED production over economic fears, but they're also putting out a 49" QD-OLED Odyssey G9. Expect both to come with very large price tags though.
