Don't order online especially for family meal, I have observed each and every time the box is not filled up and is 1/4 empty, what's the point of getting family meal then. Since the top is wider if they leave 1/4 empty is basically getting only 1/2 entree.
If you order instore you are watching usually they fill it up
BOGO PLATE (BUY ONE, GET ONE FREE)

It said plate.. not bigger plate
It clearly said "plate", not "bigger plate". People like you who can't read and understand the simplest instructions cause so many problems in society.

I used to like panda express but that was many years ago. Since they reduce the food and increase the price.
That's true, that's why my ban list of take out and restaurants keeps getting bigger and bigger!

you got the code from corp but didnt care to contact them about their own coupon problem?

how could a $12 an hr cashier know what caused their pos not to accept your coupon? they arent the owner or a pos programmer who coded to refuse it.

one more lesson for you. never ever argue with your
food server. you will end up with their extra own special inhouse sauce. you will never win.
Maybe the cashier entered the code wrong?

When I went to PE last week the cashier kept telling me my gc had a zero balance after trying to enter it 5 times. I told her i knew it had money on it because I called the "check your balance" number right before going in.

She called the Mgr over and he saw she kept entering the last digit as a 7 instead of a 3. Don't ask me how she confused those 2 number..........

Depends on your location. I ordered the family meal twice last month and all the containers were full.

Not saying you're right or wrong, but that's the gangster rationale.
Some people will argue with you whether you want to or not, too.

I agree with you that in this situation, everyone could have done things better. At the end of the day, $1.50 for an extra side is not worth my time to push the issue with corporate and not worth the employee's/managers time to satisfy the customer when there's a line of patrons during the lunch rush. At the end of the day, this or any other comment section will never be the source of change for good. It takes real people out making change happen, not just commenting on it.

They're not terrible but not great either. My two teenage kids love it though.
Pretty much what I figured - not awful, not as good as what we've got available around here. Not sure how price competitive they are, Chinese food tends to be one of the most affordable take out types of food in NYC.

Guess I'm over this chain for now. Just had the BOGO plates and not sure why I like them so much before. Saw B1G1 Big Mac and Filet-O-Fish at the local McDonald's, guess they'll be my lunches next week.

I patron a PE near me weekly. Afterward, I used to take the customer feedback survey from off the back of the receipt. Corporate would email me a code for a free small side with the purchase of a plate. I went back to the same location and ordered what the code said. The cashier said the code was not valid but couldn't tell me why the system would not accept it. The cashier and manager proceeded to argue with me. They tried to tell me it was expired, which it clearly didn't expire for 5 more days. They finally said they would do it this one time. I have news for them, I eat there at least once a week, so they better get their coupon system working, or they will be "doing it this one time" each week. I had a similar issue at another location. However, that cashier didn't say anything. I could tell by their facial expression that it wasn't working, but they just did it anyway. Respect for that cashier. PE's coupon system is messed up. Someone needs to have a chat with the person who manages this system.
Yeah, I've done those survey coupons at a few different restaurant chains and they usually work pretty smoothly, but now and then, one doesnt ring up right. It's never been a big deal and the cashier usually has some other simple way to comp the item as a workaround or calls a manager over to do it quick and easy. It's pretty bad customer service to act like it's some huge issue over such a small discount. They surely know those systems don't always work perfectly and should have a simple way in place to take care of it and not act like it's some huge deal. On a side note, I found out that the Tijuana Flats system uses both the letter "O" and zeroes. And it differentiates between the two, so it has to be right. The font they use doesn't have a slash through the zero or even look very different, so you have to look closely to see if it's a little fatter or kind of skinny to tell the difference. (Their "O" isn't really fat and round like the font typed in this forum where it's really obvious.) Anyway, I started putting a slash through my zeroes when I would write mine and the cashier laughed once saying thanks for doing that because people often get it wrong where they have to try both and they sometimes have two "O" / zero unknowns in one code.

Agreed … and that's also true for other places.

When they know it's To Go/drive-thru, then they'll give you small portions.

RARELY is that not true.

I've stopped getting pizzas after 4 pm, or tacos/burgers through drive-thru at any time.

I'd never order a sub sandwich online/app, either.

And ice in my drinks? Never. You should see the mold growing in those ice machines …. You can't see it when it falls into your Soda, but it's there.

The worst is when the Owner makes the food …. you can see them counting the slices, or measuring the cheese ….. There's a local pizza joint I only use on Sundays because the owner is off that day.

So, yeah, I totally agree with kbskt: Go in-person.
