All Motorola phones are factory unlocked. However, it is sold by Tracfone thru HSN so Tracfone locks the service to Tracfone. Tracfone allows unlocking after 60 days of service. It is very easy to unlock it then online with Tracfone, as they will provide you with 2 long codes that you enter and then Tracfone releases it.

It's Moto G Power 2022, a much better phone with 64GB and 4GB, 5000mAh battery.

Potentially important detail: after 60 days of service on a given SIM (i.e. if you move to another SIM the clock seems to reset).

They told me there was no time limit to activate it. The longest I have delayed was 6 months. I wouldn't wait more than a year, though.
Ok, thanks.

If you unlock it, what other carriers does it work with?

Is it a world phone (can I give it to relatives overseas)?

Android Central confirms that the 2022 G Power lags when opening apps and loading web pages. The MediaTek Helio processor is inferior to the Snapdragon 665 that was in the 2020 G Power.

The 2022 also has a downgraded display resolution. It's only 720p.

new tech is usually worse than old tech. It's normal.

Got this phone, the Moto G Power 2022, from Metro in July for free plus $40 plan for one month and have been using it daily for games and web browsing.

Battery health is estimated at 90% via AccuBattery after seven months of daily use

Screen on usage is 9.4%/hour for me when keeping brightness around 30-40%.

I really enjoy the back finger print as opposed to the ones on the side or in screen.

It's a nice budget phone, and basically gets 11 months of additional service for ~$10 when comparing it to the one month Metro plan. Only difference is the amount of text/calls/data, but I mainly use it for wifi.

anyone tried activating it, and then the next day moving the balance to another line? Will the phone still unlock after 60 days?

???
Are you talking about the phone brand or Mediatek?
Mediatek is not "chinese tech".

This Moto is a bit better than the TCL, mainly noticeable in battery size and camera resolution. The TCL is $20 cheaper and more portable. This Moto at 6.6" tall is close to being absurd for phone size.
The TCL A3 is shockingly slow to switch apps (limited free ram?). I can't stand to use it. I suspect this would be much better.

For example,
Tracfone Line 1: 5000 min/5000 sms/5G data, expires on December 31, 2023
Tracfone Line 2: 1000 min/1000 sms/1G data, expires on May 1, 2024

If I would combine the above two and use the Tracfone Line 1's phone number, what is the consequence of combine/merge, 6k min/6k sms/6G, expires on December 31, 2023, or 6k/6k/6G May 1, 2024, or anything else?

I was using a Moto E & bought the TCL phone for the time. I activated it and switched the time & minutes on the TCL. But since it was a worse phone, the next day I switched everything back to the Moto. Did it all online without phoning customer service or using chat. Tempted to buy this for the time.
