Side note, After doing a whole wall of peg boards... Not the most effective use of space. Looks great but you eat up way to much space only able to hang things flat on a wall.

What would you suggest for more efficient tool storage?
Chests, drawers, shelves. All offer more storage space per square foot of wall space they occupy. But unless you need your entire wall space covered in those to store evertyou have, pegboards are nice for ease of access
French cleats are nice, as you can change things around (or take them into another area) very easily.

Those all use up floor space though as well. I often find floor space to be more valuable than wall space. I did my smaller shop in metal pegboard surrounding a built in counter and I quite enjoy the ease of access. Obviously you shouldn't do all of your walls in pegboard, but some is really nice to have. Harbor freight magnet strips are also fantastic and under rated. Most tools have enough steel to stick quite well to them.
I definitely would like more drawers, but without the peg board/magnets I'd find myself searching through 50 drawers for what I need and it's just not efficient. Shelves are nice but they get in the way sometimes and are a bit too permanent. I think there's places in a workshop for all of it.
