While there are plenty of adapters for other batteries to be used on Ryobi tools, an adapter for Ryobi batteries to others would be really clunky because of the tall stem on the Ryobi battery.

If I were you, I'd just wait for a deal on one of the Ryobi lights:

Why would I need this if I have a flashlight?

Genuine question... why not just use a led flashlight with a higher lumin count?
Exactly. I asked the same. I picked two flashlights 🔦 from Costco and after two years it's on its 1st batteries...

Does anyone know if there is a hack where I can get my Ryobi batteries to work on this?

The only reason I want this is because I have other Ridgid tools and batteries and I really love their quality. But the truth is I have no need for another flashlight. Besides the light on my phone that I use most often, I also have a few rechargeable lights around the garage. This is a great price for a quality tool, but I'm going to try my best to refrain from driving down the street and grabbing one.

For Ryobi, just go with this and be done with it.
The inflator itself is worth $45-$50.

I used the Ryobi light to replace my radiator hose.
I hung it from a hole in the hood from the hook of a bungee cord tied around the battery/light (as that is the heaviest part).
The Ryobi light head flips up 90*, so the light illuminated straight down when hung upside down.

This looks to be what I got in the recent combo deal with a tire inflator. If so this thing is pretty bad ass for seeing a long distance. I can see ~50-75 yards away with it. Not the widest spread, but it does say torch, I guess that's why.

Anyone have the larger rotating flashlight of theirs to compare? I have that one and it's a monster. Very bright, but the adjustment knob is yuck.

I wonder if this means that the `R8695` is going to finally show up. I've seen it in one or two random bulk kits, but not on its own yet.
someone did a review on homedepot canada for the new 400 lumen one:

There have been several lights I've purchased hoping one would be better than the 100 lumen DeWalt lights I have. Ridgid's previous model 8694 in nice, but the limited head movement stinks. This particular model 8695 was well worth the wait. I've posted pics of it alongside the DeWalt light so you can see the similarities in design & size. Ridgid's model is now an excellent competitor to DeWalt. Both have the same style swivel head. Ridgid's trigger is easier than their previous model. The beam pattern is a little wider than the 8694 model & also wider than the DeWalt light. DeWalt has a metal ring on the back so it can hang. This new 8695 model has a stow away hook that swivels 360* making light direction real easy to aim. My only complaint (not a deal breaker) is this light does not come with a belt clip. It has a hole on each side for one. Not a big deal as they're always selling on ebay. I'd say this light is an actual 400 lumens.

A run-of-the-mill led flashlight does not accept Ridgid batteries and can't be set down on it's base with the head rotated to where you need light. Different tools for different needs.

If you're already in the Ridgid system, this is a great addition to the tool arsenal.

I have this, along with several other Ridgid lights. The spotlight is great for long distances, the panel light is a great large area work light, and the stick light is a great small area work light. This one is a basic flashlight, nothing more. But if you already have the batteries, it's a no-brainer for $20.

There are adapters to go the other way (ryobi tool to ridgid battery such as this [ebay.com]- no affiliation), but the long/tall "male" protrusion on the top of Ryobi batteries means an adapter would make your battery stick out another 4" or so. Electrically I'm sure you could get it to work but ergonomically it'd be a nightmare.

Sometimes if you're working on something close range the brighter flashlight will reflect back into your face. It depends what you're doing with it.

For Ridgid it's basically price and usage... they have lights that do 3500 lumens or 800 lumens depending on the task:
