Thanks OP, I was in the market and purchased this system.......i got to try it out over the weekend and all i can say is that it sounds fantastic!!!!

How's the dialogue with this system sound? I've tried a Sony Atmos system and I could barely hear the dialogue from movies.

While using either the remote or the HEOS app you have 3 levels you can choose from for enchanced dialogue.

I found that it did a great job with dialogue especially if you use this function....you can also change the levels of the bass and the volume that the subwoofer puts out which i thought was really nice. It can shake the house.

Just tried an open box unit, looked brand new, except for some packaging damage. System update took awhile, but after that I was able to test things out. It has well detailed highs, but bass could easily get muddy as it took over some mid duties (no crossover). The soundstage from L and R felt really narrow compared to my aging Yamaha YAS-107. Surrounds widened it a bit, but it just didn't seem like enough. All this combined with the HEOS app locking up when I tried to adjust the sub level…its going back.

Edit: don't get me wrong bass is there, I just didn't find it particularly crisp. My issues were more with the narrowness of the soundstage and the app locking up.

I also ordered an open box Samsung Q800B for $360, appears to be unused minus some box damaged. The bar itself is much better than the Def Tech unit, wider soundstage, better surround effects. The sub on the other hand seems to be low on power. I'm thinking it could be the reason this unit was returned as reviews for this setup don't usually ding it for low subwoofer output. Anyhow, Samsung is sending out another sub.
