Always CALL AND ASK before you buy on eBay if they can match the exact price and make them check, request a manager if they won't agree to the price on the phone.
Anyway, I was about to start calling them to see if they would give me this deal since I just spend $1000 on tires with them last week, but the tire my Audi uses wasn't on the "qualified" list. Oh well...still got a $70 rebate from Continental

Check the seller's policy. They usually have a disclaimer stating they will not accept returns for tires under X number of years, usually around 5 or 6.
The way they sell "discounted" tires is usually new old stock that the reputable brands will refuse to sell.
I now stick to discount tire direct, or tirerack now.

continentals are good. They are a major brand, and used on mercedes and bmw as OEM tires.
michelins are overpriced and prone to surface cracking if you don't drive much.

I had michelin primacy mxv4. never again.
tires are expensive because they do all that advertising.
day to day driving, you won't notice a difference
My continental DWS never cracked. I liked them better than michelin. Tirerack performance tests also put the contis ahead of michelin.
if you have to choose between michelin and continental, just pick the cheaper one
After being a brand snob and paying too much for michelin and continental tires, I have now switched to Kumho tires.
much much cheaper in price. not much tangible real world difference.

of course it depends where you live, and the model of tire. Some tires have better snow tread patterns.
i live in los angeles. Really no need to overpay for tires here.
Costco provides free tire rotation too ( again considering membership is maintained)
That said I've been tracking prices of the 275/40R20 for both the Continental DWS06 and Michelin Pilot Sport AS4.. and this code barely does anything. Most eBay retailers selling those tires won't accept the code.. and those with significantly higher pricing. I feel like I can get either tire for around the same price from Discount Tire or TireRack.. especially if you can time your purchase during the typical $70-$150 rebate that switches brand to brand every month.
I also trust DT or RT to ship newly made, fresh tires that have been very recently produced. Not old tires that have been sitting in a warehouse for the past few years because they were overpriced.
