Ahh this would be nice, but my "$105" simple choice 3 line plan becomes $170 if I change to magenta max... the $80 4 line plan from google fi sounds very very very attractive lol.
Add $5-7/line tax for Fi. $80 for 4-lines is before taxes.
Hey guys, I'm totally new to T-Mobile and I'm looking for advice on how to bring down the price of my plan or get more perks/benefits. I signed up for Magenta recently and have thought about upgrading to Magenta Max. I only have one line on my account. I'm not sure if I'll qualify for any promotion by calling to upgrade to Magenta Max.
Can someone please help me understand this? TMO's website mentions getting a third line for free. Occasionally, I see promos of TMO giving Max users a free line. What is it? Like another Max line with all the benefits like 5GB of roaming data and in-flight WiFi? Or just a simple voice line for talking?

If you go to store I wonder if you can transfer two lines to magenta max and request insider discount, then get the third line free. It was $113 or something like that last year for me to do that. I now have 4 lines (2 free) and home internet for $143.
Cmon now. Are you telling me you never have gotten any free lines on SC? Are those not enough? What about when they converted al plans including SC to unlimited data? That was getting the shaft?
I have had SC with 4 free lines and 3 paid for over 10 years. After TM gave us unlimited data, I didn't think I would ever switch to any other plan.
However, when i started reading the insider discount thread, I discovered that I can actually switch, keep my free lines, and if you do it right, it actually doesn't really cost that much more, especially given the free Netflix (which i would pay for anyways), insider discount, and on top of that, all of these great offers for phones. When i get this free line, it brings me to 9 total lines which changes the billing system and will actually lower my monthly rate. Go look at a Tmobile line calculator spreadsheet for yourself.
So yeah, go ahead and keep your SC plan if you are happy, but don't complain about SC getting the shaft. You have gotten more of your share of benefits on SC and you could get even more if you switch and do it right.
I'm talking about recent promos, not stuff from the last 10 years. They're clearly trying to push people to move from SC to Magenta.
My SC has always been unlimited. I'm one of the (apparently few) SC customers on here who doesn't have free lines coming out of their asses. I didn't need any until my kids got older and, now that they are, TMO wants $40 (!) to add a line. I couldn't care less about the free Netflix (isn't it the most basic service anyway?).

What is this insider discount and can I easily get it?

Employees have a certain number they can give out. They offered it to me when I asked about an educator discount. It might be worth calling a store and asking if they have any insider discounts they'd be willing to hand out for you to move over to a magenta max plan.
does anyone have my situation? if so can you provide some steps/instructions? I recently joined tmo with 2 line and 3rd free and also added a 4th line. Now i am being told by chat and phone rep that i dont qualify even though i am on magmax plan. I tried to get the service through app and tmo acct and i see a $30 monthly charge being listed. i also can't do esim even though i have s22 ultra which has esim capability...i am not sure how their system work but it doesnt find the imei as compatible..this phone was bought on att and paid off so its unlocked...thanks!
i am trying to get the free line so i can get it setup for my son, i dont have a phone for it yet but hoping to get one soon.

A quick search on Google seems to indicate that is only for new accounts. Unfortunately, I opened an account just to get Magenta in September 2022. Are there any cases where current account holders got an insider discount? Won't I have to pay a fee if I upgrade to Magenta Max at a store rather than calling in?

Most of us added the new line even though TMO reps said that we were ineligible. You'll see the promo on your account and also get a text message within an hour. You will not see the promo when adding a line. You will only see that there is a $30 monthly cost for the new line. Just submit the order. Their website is acting wonky, so go ahead and use your S22 Ultra's eSim to activate the new line. Both my iPhone 14 Pro and Pixel 7 Pro showed up as incompatible. But, I easily activated the eSim on the Pixel. Let us know how it goes. Good luck

Not free, you pay taxes on this line. This promo is to pull people to magenta max, which is a rip off. So long term you adding a free line is still more than a paid line via simple choice, military, first responders, senior plans
