Ignore that guy, he doesn't know what he's talking about.

These mats are mostly neoprene/neoprene-adjacent, so they're pretty spongy even at this thickness (thicker neoprene is used for all sorts of padding).

If this mat were thicker and you intended to use a mouse on it, you'd end up with inconsistent drag and uneven wearing of the mouse feet over time.

Any thin pad that meets your size requirements is fine, but make sure it has stitched edging.

I have 2 of these. Capt. America and Spider-Man. They are both very high quality. The colors on the Spider-Man one are great and really pop. All the other character ones are more muted but still look good. Ignore the guy talking about the thickness of them, that's the normal for good mouse pads.

Do you have one? It's the right thickness. I've been using it for over a year and a half and it's still perfectly smooth with no torn fibers, threads, etc. It was worth it back then at $25 w/ coupon, and even still today at $15 w/ shipping.
