I did a search about the Sizzling Shrimp entree at Panda Express and ran across the following:
It looks like they will be giving away a free mini Wok (made by Lodge) to customers who purchase their Sizzling Shrimp entree
at select locations on Thursday, March 9 or Friday March 10. I have no idea how widespread the promotion will be, so YMMV (Your Mileage May Vary). Update: participating locations linked below.
Here is some more info and a couple of links that mention it …
UPDATED info to reflect that the promo covers two days (see locations link for which day / store)
On either March 9th or March 10th, guests who purchase Sizzling Shrimp* from participating Panda Express® locations will receive their own limited-edition Panda Express Mini Wok from Lodge Cast Iron (while supplies last) to bring the sizzle straight to their kitchens.
The info below was the original announcement as it was first posted (before it was updated to cover two days)
"Select Panda Express Locations Offer Free Limited-Edition Mini Wok From Lodge With Sizzling Shrimp Purchase On March 9, 2023. To take advantage of the offer, simply stop by any participating location on Thursday, March 9, purchase any size Sizzling Shrimp entree, and you'll score a free mini wok from Lodge on the house. Lodge's mini woks can be used to reheat leftovers or create your own Panda-style dishes at home."

Or is it just a cool trinket to hold onto?

Restaurants might use them to serve food hot and keep it hot. It can probably be used to accomplish "Korean scorched rice" or crispy rice, i.e. bibimbap in a sizzling hot stone bowl.
Besides being used for cooking, you could certainly use something like this to keep a bowl of food hot for a very very long period of time. Like up to an hour, potentially.

It's not exactly a "trinket" in that it is essentially a small bowl size and you can cook with it, but use cases are pretty limited. It's cool, though!
that mini wok looks more like a shield or mom's weapon

If in doubt about strong spice flavors, I'd probably ask to try a sample before ordering. Most places like that have no problem offering one to see if you like it.
I think I'll call and see if they have any left before I order. Store near me is a bit out of the way and won't be able to stop until after work.
