You're right. The standard plan doesn't include unlimited data. Most states have a 1.2TB/month soft data cap -- some North Eastern states are exempt from that data cap I believe. From what I understand, users who go over the data transferred per month are given one warning if they go over it the first time. The next months if they do go over the limit, they'll get charged something like $10 overage fee per 50GB, maximum of $100 overcharge fee. See: https://www.xfinity.com/support/a...ceed-usage

However, I am seeing that the Xfi Complete addon is available for $10/month extra bringing the total costs up to $35/month. For $35/month this plan still seems worth it with unlimited data and higher upload speeds (for select regions [reddit.com])***.

If anyone is going with this plan, I do recommend getting this "Xfi Complete" as it unlocks unlimited data caps (as opposed to 1.2TB without it), and it also unlocks upload speeds which for me tested out to be around 115Mbps, as opposed to something much less like 10Mbps without. For me, this add-on is essentially a required item.

For anyone's existing network setup, I actually didn't have to configure and/or make much changes to my network settings either. With Xfinity's gateway, I just logged in and switched to Bridge mode, which essentially made it a modem-only and then connected my router via ethernet wired, and everything worked as per my previous configuration I had with my previous internet service provider.

there is no contract.
anyone know if/how to release your existing cm mac to reuse modem for the dog? Smilie
power cycle, specifically unplug the modem wait, 5 min and plug back in. that should usually give you a new IP address and will also allow you to use existing mac

For those who have signed up for the plan, what Wifi equipment did they send you?

They sent me the XB3 modem as opposed to the XB8 modem shown in the advertisement
Same here got XB3 only. I guess they only send XB8 for 1.2gbps and above speed

interesting, so having an personally owned docsis 3.0/3.1 modem

1- signup dog at same address as new customer, create new login
2- xfinity will auto cancel original account
3- powercycle modem after cancellation
4- reactivate same modem cmac via xfinity app
5- save thousand$

Does anyone know how long this will go on for? I have a contract that ends in August. I could pay the ETE of $50, but I would prefer to wait if it will still be available then.

Are you using the same modem for both accounts, or do you have 2 modems to avoid any issues?

I already had service, signed up as my dog's name and after everything was completed, it automatically sent a cancellation request for my old service with them. Didn't have to call them myself to cancel!

lol..he's right. Fiber is available in most places. why even buy regular internet.
Keywords: most places

Unfortunately here it's a "choice" between Shitcast, Verizon ($30 a month for 768Kbps DSL is their idea of a "deal") or Frontier and the latter only has lines in certain areas.

I WAS on a $60 a month plan with Xfinity until February. Now I'm up to $102. With discounts I'm paying $60 monthly OOP for 400Mbps.

Unfortunately I DE-SPISE having to squander even 20-30 minutes on the phone dealing with their cancellation line to try and get a new deal. In times past they allowed their forum representatives and local service center reps to offer a new deal. Sadly the only " deals" they had would see my bill spike by 50% and give me a mediocre lineup of channels or a landline that I would probably very seldomly use.

This is available for EXISTING CUSTOMER!
I just logged in to my Xfinity account and upgraded the existing 75Mbps $45/month plan to the 200Mbps $20/month plan!
It took me four tries to succeed - the first three tries ended up with error message at the final step of checkout.

When I logged in to my account, it asked me to select one of the two accounts.
It seems the above process created a NEW Xfinity account for me under the same user id and password.

Questions:
Do I need to contact the customer to link my Xfinity mobile lines (which was linked to my old account) to the NEW account (though they are under the same user name)? I worried about the $250/month extra charge for Xfinity Mobile if they failed to identify I have Xfinity Internet.
I called customer service who have no clues.

I received the following emails after upgrading my existing plan in order:
1) Your Xfinity ID is now linked to another Xfinity Account
2) We received your cancellation request
3) Thanks for choosing Xfinity.
4) Thanks, here is your Xfinity order confirmation

Unless you using their modem, otherwise they are not going to do anything and blaming your modem problem which they don't support.
It's true, to an extent, but there are other issues that could be happening at the user's location. Sometimes there is a low signal issue coming into the house that needs to be amplified or adjusted.

I signed up for the 200Mbps too. Giving it a test run and will upgrade it to 400 if it isn't sufficient. I think changing the plan is easy thru your account.

that's not how this works, you're worried about latency which isn't affected by adding more lanes to your highway.
You can olways setup PI Hole and with 75mbps internet speed your experience will be a rocket 🚀
