My wife and I take turns putting the account in our names every 2 years. We just alternate.
You're right. The standard plan doesn't include unlimited data. Most states have a 1.2TB/month soft data cap -- some North Eastern states are exempt from that data cap I believe. From what I understand, users who go over the data transferred per month are given one warning if they go over it the first time. The next months if they do go over the limit, they'll get charged something like $10 overage fee per 50GB, maximum of $100 overcharge fee. See: https://www.xfinity.com/support/a...ceed-usage

However, I am seeing that the Xfi Complete addon is available for $10/month extra bringing the total costs up to $35/month. For $35/month this plan still seems worth it with unlimited data and higher upload speeds (for select regions [reddit.com])***.

If anyone is going with this plan, I do recommend getting this "Xfi Complete" as it unlocks unlimited data caps (as opposed to 1.2TB without it), and it also unlocks upload speeds which for me tested out to be around 115Mbps, as opposed to something much less like 10Mbps without. For me, this add-on is essentially a required item.

For anyone's existing network setup, I actually didn't have to configure and/or make much changes to my network settings either. With Xfinity's gateway, I just logged in and switched to Bridge mode, which essentially made it a modem-only and then connected my router via ethernet wired, and everything worked as per my previous configuration I had with my previous internet service provider.

i checked that Reddit post and my area is part of the "upgrade areas" but not sure if my actual address is already upgraded. I signed up Xfi Complete, they sent me XB3, and upload speed sits at 10MBps. I was curious if XB7/8 (or whatever will get me faster upload speeds).
Demand the free wifi extension pod if you pay for xfi complete.

Did anyone else get hit with a pro-rated cancellation fee? I have not been able to access the old account documents to see the charges/fees and previously multiple agents told me I would get a refund, but now the most recent agent today said since I opened a new service, I am getting hit with a cancellation fee on the old account since it was not a transfer. Guess I will go the FCC route, but curious if anyone is already fighting this battle?
Just ask for a supervisor. Usually you can get them to waive it. How much did you have left?

I got hit with a $70ish fee because the prior deal started in October of last year. I disconnected from the agent who claimed that the billing department could not do anything and that I had to deal directly with another department that would call me. The phone rep just issued a $70 refund, but an unnecessary ordeal as usual with these types of companies.

I haven't seen any messages from Xfinity about Peacock ending in June (have it but don't use it though)....but they just sent an email about their new streaming live TV package. $20/month with no fees or contract (but +taxes)...and it includes Peacock Premium. So if it is ending now...that's why.

The problem with getting the streaming package from them are fees. Not sure if the $20 plan has them but when ever I got Xfinity Stream in the past I got killed with fees

Just got this as an existing customer.

Called first CSR and they couldn't help me. Went ahead and scheduled my service for cancelation in a week.

Was annoyed I'd have to jump through hoops making an account for my son.

Called back and the second CSR just gave me the $25 deal after she confirmed I was canceling my service. I just need to change payment to bank draft as right now it's only $30 with CC autopay.

Thanks Smilie

Anyone know if you can sign up and activate a month later? My current contract ends mid July. I was hoping for spouse to sign up under this deal and then switch next month once the contract expires.

Given I live alone , never go over data. Is the xFI complete worth it for me or should I just save the $10. Not sure how important increased upload speed is.

$25 plan also available with no gateway and no flex box nice deal
Why wouldnt you want there gateway if they are not charging you. The Flex Box now has a charge, used to be free. Not sure the advantage it .

too bad no one can afford a house now or even rent/apt so these deals dont apply lots of people doing van life now.

xfinity needs to come out with cell phone plans without their internet plans for these audiences. society cannot afford shelter now and must live in their cars or tents while working unfortunately. to get with the times they will need to offer 4-5g mvno for the big 3.

i see land line telecoms that rely on home internet and services going under in a few years since no one can afford to pay rent or house.
thats probably why internet getting cheaper besides more competition

Nope, there are still many houses and apartments , the problem is the supply cant keep up with the demand so the prices are jacked,. Xfinity lowers prices because everyone is stepping in their territory. You got Youtube TV, Sling etc taking a way TV customers and Verizon and TMobile pushing hard on their 5g Home Internet service. Its getting competitive

Yes sign up under someone else's name. They'll activate it and cancel the old service. Very very easy.

When you search your address on Xfinity it will say there's already service at this address. Click I'm moving here as a new customer.
I've my own modem, so when i call under the new name do i give them the old modem serial number? wouldn't they know that it's currently in-use?
