I will sing the praises of the warm semi-gloss.

I fell in love with a spalted maple slab of wood and wanted to use it as a bar top for my speakeasy. The issue was that maple was a little too light in color for the aesthetics of the bar.

Typically I stick to clear coats, I decided to take the risk and try out the warm semi-gloss and I couldn't be happier.

Depends how well you put the lid on. My mom bought something similar, didn't put lid on correctly, didn't last three months. The old stuff my dad put a lid on was still fine and he's been dead 20 years.

That slab looks GREAT with that finish!

For reference, a quart of this stuff is like $15 at Walmart, so the Amazon "regular" price is inflated, but it's still almost 40% off.

Good price. Got one at this price. I tried the warm satin for my stair treads and those came out really good.

Good deal, will be nice to have for some projects I have lined up. Anyone know if this can be thinned w/ mineral spirits to make a wipe-on poly like 'traditional' water based can?

This good for weather worn front door? Will it help protect or are there better products for that?

No it's not for exterior use, it'll likely yellow & crack very quickly

OIL-BASED DURABLE FINISH – Clear finish provides long-lasting protection and warm beauty to both finished and unfinished wood projects.

EASY CLEANUP – Get more done with this protective poly coating. It's an ultra fast-drying clear coat, and because it's water-based, it has a low odor and easy cleanup with warm water.
I've never heard of this stuff. Is it oil or water based? I've only ever seen the two. What the heck is an oil/water hybrid?

Usually just oils or paint. Maybe spar urethane if it's not direct sunlight all day and you're willing to do maintenance on it yearly.

Can you share a link with the $15 shipped price at Walmart. A search for me brings it up as out of stock from Walmart and resellers selling it for over $20…..

Would this be good for a oak dining room table?

It's available at my local store, so I didn't consider shipping as part of the price, but Walmart does free shipping if you have W+ or have an order over $35:

Minwax Fast-Drying Polyurethane, Semi-Gloss, Clear, 1 Quart https://www.walmart.com/ip/17300097
