These are the best batteries I have ever owned. I have the original ones from 2010 and it still works 13 years later. Best money spent

me too, but is that ever the case? I've set an alert for a few months and it's always been a ton of AA and 2-4 AAA (if any).

Yes, I still prefer more AA battery … but I had so many rechargeable batteries, so no buy for me.

Just bought some rechargeables using harbor freight 30% off coupon. Came out to about $25 for 8 AA, 8 AAA, and a charger. Not sure how it compares to the ones in this post, but I can say the HF charger is very slow. I've had 4 AAA on charge for about 11 hours and still going. I believe packaging said it takes about 15 hours to fully charge.

I'm in the needing AAA brigade too, cause overbought AA in the past. Finding it hard to resist. Need plenty AAAs but this only gets me 4.

This may be one of the better NIMH chargers, not much has changed since it was released long ago except the LED colors. Each bay independently charges so you can mix batteries and it charges slowly so there's less heat/damage. All around this is a very solid combo! AFAIK the only NIMH compatible chargers "better" than this would be programmable ones that cost significantly more.

Good deal but I want to warn the last time I bought this deal a few weeks ago I had to return it because there were batteries missing. Which was very odd because that means either its a manufacturer error or someone tampered with the sticker seal and returned it

Wouldn't this be a better deal on another well known brand (Tenergy) but with a smart charger and 4 more AAA (losing 2 AA) that are are also higher capacity batteries?

Tenergy AA AAA Rechargeable Battery and Charger Combo TN162 8-Bay Smart LCD AA/AAA NiMH/NiCd Charger + 8 AA & 8 AAA NiMH Rechargeable Batteries https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IDPVABW

All I can really see is claimed recharge cycles. found this comparison between the two:

https://ahtrimble.com/2020/04/05/...s-tenergy/

PS: I own plenty of both brands currently. Also EBLs but those are rechargeable Li-Ion.

Not really sure… imo Tenergy is a Chinese company so they're Chinese batteries which are probably not as they claim. Eneloops are arguably the cream of the crop when it comes to batteries and made in Japan. I just trust them more but to each their own

No. There's exactly one manufacturer in Japan that manufactures all Japanese rechargeable batteries. That's why Eneloop, IKEA Ladda*, etc. are all the same--the same company manufactures them in the same facilities in Japan and sticks the appropriate branding on them.

With that said, I've never heard people compare Chinese-made rechargable batteries favorably to the Japanese-made ones. Fair or accurate, that's the perception people have.

*All the standalone packages that I've seen have been MiJ, but IKEA also sources MiC batteries for their solar panel products, most likely because logistically it's far easier to keep the whole manufacturing process in China for those products. I've also heard rumors of IKEA sourcing MiC batteries for the standalone boxes (and labeling them as such), but I haven't personally seen this at the store I've been going to for the past few years.
