Some people hate it, some people love it. I'm in the latter group. My personal favorite game of last year. Don't @ me.

the game is good if you prefer ps3/ps4 era gaming. I really don't vibe with any of the new AAA stuff (horizon, GOW, Last of US, Elden Ring, etc) but love games like these, Tales of Berseria/Arise, Persona, etc

Good for JRPG fans and anime lovers
True,
The game was good...not great but good. I played till the end and found the story entertaining and the combat acceptable and fun. It had both horizontal and vertical exploration elements, and a majority of the voice acting was done well. Most characters were likeable, and seeing some of the heart to hearts was fun. A solid 7 game can still hold your attention and be fun...especially if expectations are metered beforehand. This is an excellent first entry into the Star Ocean series as well since it requires no previous knowledge to play. I got over 40 hours out of it and don't regret my playthrough. 30 bucks well spent imo.

I enjoy it too, much better than SO5. I'm hoping the series stays continuing to improve. If only square can give them better budget to work with in the future.
Square could take more than a few lessons from western devs.
