Just giving a heads-up. Many people might not be aware, but there's a critical vulnerability on many Android phones where a hacker can take complete control over your phone by just knowing your phone number (and wifi calling is active on your phone). Luckily Google has released an update for many of the phones vulnerable to this yesterday. You have to manually go into your Android phone and search for an update for your phone and it will push the update to you.
More details about the vulnerability: https://www.androidauth ority.com/...s-3299355/
Since so many people are affected by this I figured this was worthy of being posted!

My pixel 6a has been going for 30 minutes. It didn't freeze or lock up, just going really slow. The update is 272MB. I expect 1GB updates to take 30-60 mins. My old Apple watch probably does 300MB updates in 30 mins. Not what I expected from a "current" gen phone.

It took more than one hour for mine.
If this is truly a Slick Deal, should I start threads for every critical update on Windows, iOS, Adobe, FireFox, Chrome, and maybe even BIOS updates?
I get wanting to share the news that there's an Android update, it's important info that many people need if the phones aren't automatically notifying users, but this does not seem to me to be what SD is for.
First time on SD? Plenty of these posts around, just move along
Do they have a folding phone besides the old iPhone 6?
I joined SD in 2005, so no…not first time here.
There may be posts like this around but this is the first time I've seen one in the "Popular" tab, thus my comment. Just seems odd. But 🤷🏼
Okay see now that is solid reasoning I can get behind 👍 that actually makes sense to me. Thank you for the explanation.
