From what I'm reading (first time shopper for stuff like this), yes they are too short to safely use on racks, these are for other more mobile exercises.
I bought the 7' version, paid $60 for it when I bought the bumper plate set. Can confirm this is a very nice bar. the bearings / bushings spin freely and the knurling feels great. I'm sure barbell snobs can find faults but having lifted in various commercial gyms over the years this feels as good as anything I've used, I've only put 315 on it so far but it's been rock solid for me.
That MSRP of $149 for the 5' bar seems overinflated.

Are these too short for a power rack/squat rack/bench for bench press?

Second pictures shows the grip space which is also the rackable space.

5' bar: 37.2" grip space
6' bar: 42.9" grip space

So measure whatever you're using to hold the bar and if it fits into that grip space of the bar, you're good to go.

Jk I think this is actually a decent budget bar iirc.

Thinking about getting the 5' to use instead of 7' for landmine stuff in my basement where space is tight. Trying to think if there's any downside to the shorter bar that I'm not thinking of.

There may be some racks that can do it, but my Rogue is 49" from outside post to outside post, meaning you want at least 50" between the collars on the bar. I think competition standard is ~52" between collars.

This one is 37.2" for the 5' bar and 43.9" for the 6' bar.

Ones that can fit in a rack seem to be more expensive, probably because they're pretty rarely wanted. I bought a rogue junior for my wife and son and it was about $200. Looking on amazon I can find a few that seems to be in the $120+ range, but nothing in this range.

The shorter barbell will be at a larger angle at the top of the rep. The weight you'll feel at the larger angle will be less. Less of a problem if you're shorter. If you're very tall that 5' bar could end up vertical! haha

Sleeve length difference is about 5"/about a third of the 7', so number of plates and how much you can grip is a good bit less.

How do they make money on these things? Seems like these would be expensive to manufacture, store, and transport.
