Anytime Milwaukee bitsets come up people say how hard it is to get them out. And they aren't kidding. It's a royal pain and I have 3 different sets. I finally bought makita and that is the standard of how bits should be. So now I use makita bits in my Milwaukee drivers.

A lot of repeat sizes for deep and normal, making this set a little redundant. Buy this set instead for $136 with hack:

Yep. I can verify, they are a pain to get out. I wish I would have bought a different set but can't justify with so many. Usually DeWalt has great cases with bits, etc. easy to move.

Are the sockets in that set higher quality? Or are you just paying for the packout case?

Same quality as far as i know. Paying for packout case plus more socket sizes available. Take a look at the inventory sheet for both sets and you'll see my link has much more

I expected the people buying tools to be able to fix things, but apparently problem solving is a lost art. Just use the 1/4" bit and enlarge the holders slightly till the bits come out smoothly, sheesh.
Criticism is to help improve the product for everyone. There is always something to improve, so why not give feedback? Enough feedback have been sent to Milwaukee that they have a newer case that resolves this issue. If people had shut up about it, no one would've gotten the new and improved version. It's for the better.

Unlike the other guy, I actually agree with you, but I also think there is a reason Milwaukee's are this way. Through and through Milwaukee is thinking of the worse-case usage conditions. Having a bit case fall down a flight of stairs or off a ladder and not lose a single bit is nice, and in -most- construction situations (which is really Milwaukee's target audience, not the DIYers) you'd be wearing protective gloves that will grip the bit better and not worry about cutting a finger on a snug drill bit. I don't particularly enjoy it either, but I basically make this kit here myself. Buy whatever brand bits on sale, put bits in a packout case I already have. Win-win.
