Snare lugs are not plastic, lol. I've never heard of a lug snapping, never mind half of them, lol.
A throne, kick pedal, hi-hat stand and cymbals, snare stand, crash & ride cymbals and booms. Oh and drum sticks.

So you'll need hardware like this: https://www.amazon.com/Yamaha-HW-...3BPU&psc=1

Cymbals like these: https://www.amazon.com/Zildjian-P...86TR&psc=1

And throne and drum sticks.
Meinl and Sabian are excellent too. My favorite is Paiste, but I recognize that the other brands are equally good quality.

I remember being a teenager and dreaming of the day I can afford a nice set of drums and cymbals. Now I'm 40 and could afford whatever drums and cymbals I want but unfortunately I don't play much anymore. Weeping

I was about to ask if Meinl were any good. Thanks for the tip, I feel like good cymbals and heads are such a huge part of making the kit.
Meinl makes a fantastic "artisan" cymbal. It's a very specific sound that may not be for everyone. I've used Zidljian K's, Sabian HHX, Dream Eclipse, and others. The Meinls are on the bucket list for sure.
