I know several may not don't know this, but just about every one of your questions have been asked and answered in the original thread. I'm uncertain why a 2nd thread on this deal has been opened, but what's done is done. Lol.
Here's the first thread:
https://slickdeals.net/f/16487416-mint-mobile-128gb-google-pixel-7-unlocked-smartphone-12-month-4gb-plan-289-recovery-fee-port-in-required-free-s-h
To answer some frequently-asked questions:
1 - The phone is fully unlocked. It can be used on ANY carrier on ANY network in the US. GSM and CDMA both work.
2 - The deal comes with a total 12 months Mint service at 4GB/month when you port-in a number. 6 paid-for months and 6 free months. updated]
3 - Port-in is required to activate on Mint. updated]
4 - You do NOT have to activate on Mint. You get an activation key card with the phone which you can use or not use as you wish. You can even resell the service on PayPal or go to the original thread and find someone looking to get Mint service.
5 - Since the phone is unlocked, you can put your own SIM in the phone or get a SIM from any US carrier you want and use the phone there.
6 - If you want to port in a number but don't have one to burn, you can get one via Google Voice for three bucks and about ten minutes of your time. See the original thread - the how-to is pinned at the top.
The phone is solid. I have one. I paid an extra $30 to upgrade to 10GB/mo and did the $3 Google Voice trick to port in a "new" number rather than use up one of my own.
Good luck.
