Onkyo TX-RZ50 9.2 Channel THX Certified A/V Receiver Open Box + Free Shipping

Just a word of caution that it is an open box not a refurbished item which usually running $200 more.
I took my chances and ordered this one.

Good luck! Smilie

If memory serves, open box items are still covered by the mfg's warranty and more often than not classified as such to get around advertised price rules but I'm not 💯

This is one hell of a receiver with 120Wpc (stereo mode), 11.2 processing, and 40 gigabit of HDMI 2.1 bandwidth should serve 99% of people well for quite some time. I'm sorely tempted (I'd have to add accident coverage for 3 years having a history with spilling shit on the most expensive thing in the room, on the other hand, doing so would make the mfg's warranty concern moot 🤪)

Edit: if you're truly concerned about the warranty, pay for the purchase with Amazon pay and it is covered by the A to Z Amazon guarantee. If you try to register the product and there's a problem, Amazon will have your back as the listing specifically mentions all receivers. Have a 3-year warranty. I would be all over this if I hadn't bought a car in October and TWO mid receivers last year😿...

We should see more deals on these, as Onkyo has announced it's new RZ70, which looks to be a beast of a receiver.

I just bought it to switch from my Yamaha a2a. I won't buy another Yamaha because of their false promises

i have bought from this vendor many times, they are a very good retailer to do business with. normally on their open box units that retain their manufacturers warranty it will say so on the little "open box" panel on the product page. this one does not, so anyone interested should contact them directly to confirm. but this is still a great deal.

Can anyone discuss how this receiver works with remote controls. So for instance does it work with Apple HomeKit and I can turn it on and off? How about it's app and turning up/down volume for zone b?

My question too....I wonder how much I could get for a lightly used TX-NR797?
