An odd side note about Merrell shoes purchase directly from Merrell is you can't cancel or modify an order once placed. I just had the issue last week. I ordered the size my wife said to order, and she then changed her mind. Merrell told me sorry, I had to wait for the box to arrive, then return them. Such a waste of time, let alone the environmental impact the claim to love so much. I wasn't paying for expedited shipping either. Very odd.

Are their slides good to wear without socks? I'm looking for something I can very quickly slip on & off when I'm just going to check the mailbox or whatever.

yes, but when you wash them, the dye will stain your hands.

I haven't seen dye bleed in years

The slides are really excellent with or without. If you have been wearing Crocs, this is a major step up with much much better support.

Not to mention that the Crocs will kill you. I myself had a bad fall when they tripped me up. I also work offshore, where you must remove your work boots when entering the living quarters - and everybody just kept a pair of Crocs at the door rack. But there were so many falls that management finally outlawed the Crocs on the platform - and most folks went to these.

These in black are available at Sierra.com for $40, and limited sizes in brown for $30.

Also, I normally wear 11 and these feel loose in size 11. probably should have went a half size down.

I had the exact same experience. Usually wear an 11, but they feel a little loose. That being said, I'm still wearing them.
