If you purchase by 4/5 a flight that is before 5/24, then any flights you book that fly between 8/15-9/30 you can bring your companion for free. You can buy the 8/15-9/30 tickets anytime but won't be able to add your companion until 8/15 as per previous similar promos.

Strange, I think you're right. I did see a rapid reward number for my companion - I don't know how that got in there, maybe her personal information matched one already in SW's system? In any case, no miles earned from companion pass flight.
Got mine. It's active. Just have to check the website, not the app. Click "My Account," then "Add Companion."

Has to be two one way or one round trip FOR THE SAME PERSON to count as it is based on RR#
No. But you have to spell their name, middle name, last name exactly the same as their account and email and phone number need to match for it to automatically match to the right RR#
I added myself as companion to my husband's flights this morning and it automatically matched to my account and my flights automatically showed up on my account

You should call and have the right RR# added. The system matches it based on exact spelling, email, and phone number so if anything is off/wrong it can create a new RR# automatically
