I highly recommend this instead of the 4k Max just because of the 16gb ram (12 free after OS load). The USB network adapter is a nice to have. The new cube looks good but this ($40) VS the new cube (on sale $125), I would grab this because I doubt the new cube is $85 better. Heck you could get 3 of these and still be cheaper than the new cube on sale.

This should hold me over until they release a new nvidia shield. For the price, can't go wrong

Are you saying that because voice commands work in Kodi?
Or do you mean just having them accessible on the device is a nice feature?

It has either a MicroUSB or MiniUSB port in the back where you can connect a full size USB adapter (I think it's included). If you're using it to connect a hard drive, it doesn't support NTFS or exFAT so you're limited to 4GB per file max
