If you couple these printers with aftermarket bulk ink from Aliexpress/Amazon/eBay you have a wonderful situation. Ink is ink.
With our previous Epson WorkForce cartridge printer we would have spent well over $500 for new ink cartridges by now.
My only criticism of this printer is that it has less features than the cartridge based WorkForce printer. That printer had a touch screen, which I greatly prefer over having to use the navigation buttons, and it also had two paper trays, which came in handy when trying to print labels.
I believe that the EcoTank 4000 series printers do have a touch screen, if this is something important to you.

The printer itself is pretty nice. Reddit has some discussions about it and the general consensus is that it's the best choice for color, while Brother is the best for B&W laser.
So, here's my review:
Flimsy, works okay, lots of black ink, no 5GHz
I just bought and set this up. It has a very cheap, flimsy feel to it. I got it mainly for printing photos. There's no manual feed tray. And there's no rear ejection slot. But I printed a #10 envelope and it came out okay, even if the left margin was reduced to almost zero (on other printers there would be a 3/4" margin before the return address, on this there's about .2"). It comes with three bottles of black ink, and one of each of the three colors. The setup process uses about 10-15% of what the tanks hold.
The paper tray is minimalist and quite flimsy feeling. But, all things considered, it was worth the sale price (with $80 off). Should be great for printing photos, based on prior Epson experience. (I have a huge other brand MFC that prints nice photos, but does it very slowly. That one is good for documents)

I can reveal here that our beast of a machine is a Brother. And I have since scanned a page using the ADF on the Epson. WOW- it's Slllooooowwww. [www.] I don't expect to ever need it.
