Only real drawbacks are straight steerer tube and QR wheels, which limits upgradability.
I'm sure there's going to be MANY, MANY comments about buying online or buying used, but if you want to buy new, in-store, with the ability to easily return it, this is a decent beginner MTB.

Check out sun and ski. They have it for the same price in blue.

For sure it is "safer" from an ergonomics standpoint to get a slightly shorter bike and lengthen it 10-15mm with a longer stem, than getting a longer bike that will stretch you out because that's how you've heard MTB heroes did it in the 15y ago.

Spend a little bit on something more where you don't have to immediately dump $250 to $500 into the fork to have a decent ride for actual trail use. Add a cheap dropper post if you're at all serious about riding off road. The rest of the bike looks okay for a beginner, but there's no reason to start with such a heavy, low-end fork on an otherwise decent frame.
The bottom bracket and square taper crankset are about 30 years devolved too, so consider upgrading those with the fork for a major weight savings.
