That being said, I don't see them lowering the prices anytime soon, so this is a good deal for modern times.
I have a bandit and it's a good beginners kayak, especially since it is sit-on-top instead of sit-in like the trailblazer. I use it purely for recreation on a still body of water and for that purpose it is well suited.
Common complaints are that the seat isn't the most supportive and the fixed foot rests can be non-ideal if you are in between sizes. That being said, it's best in class for the price point and, while not super fast, is very stable due to the width.
The next step up for noticeable improvements would probably be at the >$500 price point.
EDIT: is it possible to change the title to kayaks and not canoes lol?
I'm not seeing that price in the Dicks app or online. Pelican Bandit NXT 100 Kayak is $299
