Glycine threads get beaten to death everytime. Yes Invicta owns them as a parent company, yes the logo changed from the original "crown" design to the "winged" designed displayed in Joma's photographs. Due to design litigation with Armani it appears Glycine changed back to the "crown" logo even though they won their case. Hence, you do not know which logo you could receive from new old stock or even new production from old parts.

If you like this watch for its looks, the price is arguably great to fair for Swiss branding, selitta movement, sapphire crystal. Wear it in good health and win. Do not buy this watch for investment or stature, that would be a losing proposition.

All this information is without coffee and from memory years ago when I actually cared. I own a crown logo Glycine California Incursore and enjoy it very much. I wouldn't buy another because there are a lot of fish in the sea that is.

I don't know if the discount is legit given that it is a brand now owned by Invicta, but despite it being 43mm it looks really good. Comments on it seem to indicate that there two different watch faces for this model with different logos if I read them correctly.

For reference, this sits at about $280 gray market in a decent sale and $300 from Costco, though NLA.

Ok deal. As mentioned above, it's a watch to wear rather than a keepsake. Def a notch above similar seiko/orient in my experience.

For what it's worth: I bought a Glycine Combat 6 a few years back (36mm). The fit and finish are fantastic and it keeps time as well as any other watch in its price range. Granted, I bought it for closer to $199 but inflation yadda yadda.

Yes, Invicta is the parent company, but Glycine packs a lot of value in for its price, as long as you go into it with the same consideration as its parent company: Not so much worth it at MSRP, worth it if you can get a good sale.

If you like the look of it, it's a fair value for a good watch in its price range.

Edit for clarification: I bought mine within a year or so of when Invicta bought the brand, so to be fair, I can't comment on whether quality has persisted since Invicta bought it.

The Marathon is a true beater watch with low profile. This Glycine serves the same purpose but with a larger profile, and can be dressed up (if you invest in a new set of leather or bracelet) if you need to. , and slightly cheaper.

That Marathon is 34mm while this Glycine is 43mm. That would be a significant deciding factor for me. I like the look of the Marathon more but it's too small to be an everyday contender.

Glycine are nice watches, however I would rather consider similarly priced Tissot watch - Couturier Automatic Black Dial Men's Watch, 39 mm, $249

Nicer strap, power reserve 80 hrs, better brand recognition and resale.

I have a glycine combat as my daily wear. I'm in the field a lot and it's nice to have a watch that looks as good as it does with a very decent movement that I don't have to worry too much about getting banged around.

This is a budget friendly brand that gives a reliable Swiss movement that is easily serviceable and a sapphire crystal for the price. Great watch if it's your style and wearability.

I had a diver version of this brand. I am a watch hobbyist and have owned many Swiss brands but my current favorite is from Asia, Grand Seiko.
