Can I just pay for the first month and wait 180 days to unlock?
That's all I needed to know... good price though if you have use for this phone.
Thanks, OP.
A54 also available for $50 + 1 month plan

So if I go to another area, it would change - need reboot?

My old Xfinity A50 has
CCT/CCT/CCT
Nah, i think u will just continue getting GSM services regardless location

CCT means "comcast branded". That mean the phone is locked to comcast and running comcast network. Meanwhile, the XAA firmware will be more specific since it can read and adapt across network. At this point, u may as well switch to Tmobile piggy carrier since xfinity sell u to GSM carrier anyway 🤣 they collect $30 from u, pay TMB $20 for ur service and keep $10 as profit. ez money lol

I have another S21 FE that's due to be unlocked next week and an A54 a week later. I considered misleading him and asking him to unlock the other S21 FE that's still currently locked but decided not to. The guy clearly had the juice to immediately unlock phones.
You're lucky. I talked to tmobile tech support twice already.
One lady couldn't even find IMEI in the system.
The other tech support guy found IMEI, but couldn't do anything.
If you find smbd who can help with the 2nd phone, please ask his/her name and department.

When I switched with Xfinity, they said its VZ - perhaps later they partnered with TM.
The APN is VZWINTERNET -> there is nothing TM here!
Could it be because its a TM/Metro phone?

Yeah, at the end of the day, what matter is that u now have an unlocked phone which run on pure samsung firmware and can hop to any carrier at any moment. Good job in the self explore on the flashing, u should reward urself a cup of drink already haha

I am really happy with the new firmware! Seriously. I didn't know I could do it so easily.
I received calls too today and made calls. Knock the wood. I spent hours talking to Xfinity last Sunday when my phone stopped working. You opened my eyes!

I wonder our flashed phones will still get automatic updates - or TM/Metro might still send updates and move it back to their FW? I don't know the A54 thread and what their experience.

U get update still, but it will be coming directly from Samsung, instead of Metro. Which is good because all the updates will only for new features and security, while the carrier will fill their junks in if they are included in the update chain

I already did, on Page 25th. Just don't know how to get it pin on so others can see too. I think on A54 topic, fungame also posted a similar instruction, which also buried in pile of comments, unfortunately. But steps by step is pretty much the same, Just different firmware. So one can be use to flash either galaxy model

Credit goes to "gti" from Galaxy A54 topic for step by step instruction. U can only brick the phone if flashing process get shut off in middle or flashing incorrect firmware. As i ran my and it fairly straightforward, u shouldn't have any problem.

u will need 2 files,
1. is the firmware which is here. Which is also the one i used for my S21 FE as factory unlock firmware: https://samfw.com/firmware/SM-G990U3/XAA
Select the latest version

2. will be Patched ODIN from here: https://xdaforums.com/t/patched-o...1.3762572/
Get the last file named "Odin3 v3.14.1_3B_PatcheD.zip".

Extract both files, Make sure ODIN runs as administrator.
Enabling ur S21 FE USB debugging in developer setting. (Setting > about phone > software info > tap "Build number" 7 times). Then turn off the phone. After that, hold up+down volume button and press power botton to boot into download mode

The rest can be found in this video which is pretty much change the firmware folder file extension, toss them into ODIN and click start

Hope it helps

The first two will change depending on what carrier you're using the phone on, the 3rd one means the phone is running on factory unlocked firmware which is XAA. For my case, it would be VZW/VZW/XAU if pop my dad sim card in.
Now im pretty sure that xfinity is having u piggy on their rental Tmobile network since they can't get Verizon in ur area.
I had the deactivated Metro SIM in it when flashing - did it cause it?

Update:
Well, I re-flashed it - nothing changed. Still has TMK/TMK/XAU

I wouldn't be so sure about Tmobile and its mnvo. May be depends on luck.
