Beware of Xfinity Mobile 24 month commitment. I got a Pixel 6a for free with 24 mos device credits. After 9 months the 6a separated the front screen from the back. Xfinity could care less since I didn't purchase the device protection plan from them.

Google honored the 1 year warranty however, and they sent out a replacement phone. I returned my defective 6a to Google...all should have been well.....except

Xfinity won't let me replace the defective 6a with my replacement 6a and keep the device payment plan going. They said (on the phone and different rep via chat) that if I swap in the replacement 6a I will LOSE my remaining device payment plan credits.

Since the defective 6a is gone, my options are to simply let that line ride out the remaining 14 payment plan credits (for 14 more months) and effectively lose access to that phone number (cannot move the phone number or I will also lose the remaining device payment plan credits).

Or, I can simply swap the SIM and be sure NEVER to confirm with Xfinity that I swapped the SIM into the replacement device (they have an online notice that they have detected I swapped devices and to confirm it). Then hope that all is well for the next 14 months...there is no guarantee.

According to the Xfinity CSR's there is no provision to retain your remaining device payment plan credits should you lose or break your phone during the pendency of the payment credits, even though the line remains active with the number you ported in. If you change the device, and you let them know, you lose the payment plan credits.
That 24-month commitment kills it for me.. It's really a Contract..
There may also be a $100 Rewards that you can stack.

Nice, I was going to wait for a potential free 7a promo but I don't see why you'd wait for that if this is available. As far as free phones go, the only thing maybe worth waiting for is if you want to see if a free mini iPhone 13 deal comes around.

I got free $600 phone + $100 reward + $50 that which gets your post deleted

So I'll probably land somewhere between 2YR $150 MM to 1YR $150...not bad (not counting taxes, $10 line activation fee, $3 GV).

For anyone asking about how many lines do you have to how many devices can you get...it's all in the checkout. So just add a phone and go through a few screens.

I think by doing the BYOD deals they increase your line limit. My line limit went up by the number I did back in Dec '22.

How do you get it for $2 per month? I only see the $15 per month by the gig plan. I really appreciate the help.
As I mentioned - I ALREADY have XM service on the by-the-gig plan; currently have 5 lines sharing 1 GB of data.

The $15 per month is for the 1 GB shared data; plus I pay the taxes and fees per line, about $2 per line for a total of $25 per month.

If I add one MORE line on the same by-the-gig plan - since I'm already on the plan, I don't need to pay the $15 again; I just pay the extra taxes and fees associated with the new line.
The advantage with by-the-gig is that it's shared data; the disadvantage is that the data buckets are small, and the per gig rate can be quite high ($15 fo1; $30 for 3 which works out to $10 per gig; or $60 for 10 which is $6 per gig.)

Unlike many people that have commented on this deal, my wife and I are new to Xfinity mobile (although we have Xfinity internet) and will switch wireless service from Boost.
The main reason we are pulling the trigger for the "free" Pixel 7s is because we will get two lines for $30 each (+ taxes) and our Xfinity internet cost will be reduced by $20 monthly for 2 years (Now $5, down from $25 (200 mbps).
We believe it's a decent deal for our situation. Any thoughts? Thanks.

No, they just automatically unlocked it. I'm still paying it off.

FYI this is not something Xfinity commonly does. 99.99999% of the time they require the phone to be paid off before unlocking it.

Excellent deal, thanks OP. I have both $100 and $150 gift card offers. Unsure which one or if both I'll get.

This is not unique to XM. If you have a bill credit, you lose the credit once you don't have that phone. They can't manually over ride it.
This is distinct from T-Mobile, where in many cases device credits are tied to a line (rather than a device) which means paying the Device off early or adding a new device with it's own associated credits on a line with existing credits is no problem and credits will continue/stack as long as you keep the line.

Good luck!

That workaround was closed a while ago via an update. If you had done it prior to that, it will remain unlocked until you factory reset the device. There is another workaround that required you to factory reset the device, then during setup have your wifi network be a metered connection and it will not request the unlock status and the phone will be unlocked. Tha one still works to my knowledge, but it is very hard to maintain the wifi network to always use a metered connection and if it ever slips through, it gets the unlock status and locks the phone. I tried that method and found it wasn't worth the hassle.

Beware, Xfinity is the worst company to deal with when it comes to Customer Care. These free phones aren't worth the hassle of spending hours on phone with Customer Service reps.

Everyone may not have an experience same as mine. But still I would ask anyone jumping on this to be cautious.

In my case, it was a "free" phone deal which becomes not so much of a free phone when you ending up paying 15$ for the new line. Worst part is, that they keep charging you money despite of canceling the line within 14 days & returning the device. It took about 4 months for them to stop charging me monthly for this thing.

My only issue is the paltry 1gb data. I've been needing a new phone
