Western Digital's online store is back in business and giving store wide 10% off (with coupon code SAVE10).

Their SSD price is the lowest ever seen after applying the coupon. For example:

2TB SN770 [westerndigital.com] for $99
2TB SN850X [westerndigital.com] for $135
And more [westerndigital.com].

Shipping is free. Offer ends 5/26/2023.
Don't forget Paypal 12% cash back offer for WD.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Wow, the 2TB prices just keep falling. Hope to see the 4TBs start to come down in line with these as well.

Choose to go through another CB website instead of paypal. Cha-ching, the 10% CB is already posted there. $105-$10CB = $95 (tax included) for a 2TB SN770, not too shabby.

Paypal wouldn't give me my last WD cashback on an order I made so fark them, $40
Did you get the confirmation from Paypal about pending points the day you made the purchase? I got that email each time I ordered with WD through PayPal's 12% promo. If you never got that email I'm guessing the purchase didn't register with them for some reason. Make sure when you do cashback links that you disable ad and cookie blockers, disable VPN, disable any enhanced tracking protection from your browser as that stuff could interfere with your purchase being tracked.

BTW for the first WD order I received cashback in my account however for the second order while it appeared in the reward history it showed up as 0 reward. I had to contact them to fix that and I eventually got the money.

I never received my cashback from earlier this year.

PayPal said to get the info from WD, after opening a ticket with WD it just went into a black hole.

Did you install any extension on your browser that apply coupons for you? Those extensions eat cash back

I have one more newb question. How can I check if my laptop support NVME PCI 3.0 vs 4.0? I tried google but couldn't get a good way to find out apart from contact rhe manufacturer. The laptop is HP 15t-100dy. But HP's website doesn't have any info on this

It's a 10th gen so PCIe 3.0. it doesn't matter much as it won't effect compatibility. The SN770 is a good mobile option in your case. I believe the Hynix P31 Gold ($121 now) is still the, um, gold standard for mobile use.

Man I paid this much for the 1TB for my PS5 maybe less than a year ago.

Btw the SN770 works perfectly fine in the PS5.

For PS5 or PC? Pretty similar in performance. If PS5 get whichever is cheapest. If PC and cloning is necessary you can't beat Samsung Data Migration tool but only works with Samsung drives. If PC and not cloning I'd go the SN850X slightly faster sequential speeds assuming you have NVMe gen4 slot or will upgrade in the future.
You can just use Macrium Reflect Free to clone and get whichever drive you like better. Macrium is at least as reliable as any drive mfr cloning tool, doesn't care what brand drives you have, and can do more.

How do you get 16.2$ cashback via PayPal? I think I'll only get 3% cashback via SlickDeals rewards.

One will melt your laptop. The other will keep it at room temp.

I want to add a 2TB SN770 in a small case to my 3.0 port on my current Netgear router as a NAS. Typically a spinning disk drive would generate heat but remain cool when not being accessed. How does the NVME drive heat when not being accessed Would this be a good choice and reliable as a NAS?
If so what case would you recommend?

I wouldnt do nvme for nas. Not saying you cant but I wouldnt trust it. I do have a synology nas and I use 2 nvme drives for caching.
