Dammit, y'all are going to make me google partycade huh
These have the 8" screens. The Galaga 88 contains the full Galaga series plus Xevious which is a great selection. I wonder if you can take this board and put it in a partycade or the original Galaga 3/4 cab and connect to the 17" monitors in them, even if you need to get a LVD board. I bought. one to try it. I can sell my other Galaga Countercade.

Partycade I would probably be in - not sure about this smaller one for me.

But mulling this over, regardless. Wish it was Space Invaders, though

How are these $59?? I just bought a Gameboy knockoff that plays thousands of games including Galaga for under $40.

What even is the point of having tiny cabinet like this? I can see the appeal of the Partycades with their bigger screen but this is too small to be enjoyed as a cabinet, and too big to be enjoyed as a portable device.

I just clicked the link in the OP and it still shows $69. Normal price is $149. There is an $80 discount/sale.

people will be asking the same thing years and decades from now...but you know what, people just like collecting things, trophy pieces,etc... for people living in tiny homes, cramped spaces, so they wish they had a smaller version of cabinets to bring back the nostalgia without costing too much space... but true, gameboy knockoffs can accomplish the same fun factor and more, but not the nostalgic artwork cabinet..

The Arcade1Up Jr. Cades (Paw Patrol and Pac-Man) are Countercades in a 1/2 scale cabinet instead of a bartop size. These Countercade (bartops) are a little easier to move around, but mostly a bit of playable decor in a home arcade. At least the Galaga 88 has 5 games on it. The only thing lacking on these is the screen size, but people look and play on 7"-10" tablets all day long.

I do use a 10" screen all day but it is right in my face and more than double the area of this thing. Those extra two inches are a huge difference.

Maybe if it was a 10" screen nostalgia would make me go for the dumb purchase. I do love Galaga an Xevious is pretty fun too. When I was a kid, quarters were precious, so I would go for games I was fairly good at and actually got some time to play. Galaga, Spy Hunter, Discs of Tron and Asteroids took many of those quarters.

The small screen on these changes the games significantly by speeding them up. Whether that is an illusion or real doesn't matter - you will think the game has been sped up. Play the original Pac-Man on one of these little screens and you will see what I mean. It feels like the action is moving at twice the speed. Really changes the gameplay and feels nothing like the original game.

If I remember, Paw Patrol can be hacked and loaded with just about any old school game. Not sure how many adults will want to be squatting down to play Tecmo Bowl on a cabinet that size, though.
