We have this unit at work that we use once in a while. It shows the voltage, cca, state of health, charge health, etc. It works pretty good. I mainly use it to check the charge and health of weak batteries before I buy a new one.
I bought one on the last deal (maybe one model higher) for $29 and it's a super nice analyzer providing repeatable results, useful tests, and accurate internal resistance measurement. Very happy with the brand. Not sure if this one for the current deal is missing anything from the prior model deal https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0...UTF8&psc=1
At first glance, most functions look the same.

Note that some of these testers[amazon.com] also work for 6V and 24V batteries, but not this one. That's not relevant for most cars/trucks but would be needed for (some) motorcycles and (some) large vehicles.
Usually only when they think they maybe having a issue. I got one a couple years ago and have barely used it. I don't think they are very good except checking a charge. In some cases it might show a possible failing battery. One really needs something that puts a load on a battery to really test it's condition.

Yeah I use the more expensive battery tester from Top Don and it's pretty consistent but I also use a battery load tester. Same type of load tester I have been using for over 30 years
Doesn't AutoZone provide a tester to check your battery health for free? Is this a similar device they provide?
When I last had a battery tested at a retail auto parts store, they wanted me to bring in the disconnected battery and they tested it under a vent hood. Maintaining a few vehicles, I picked up the BT100 which is about twice the price...that tester provides good enough performance and is a great value for me so I can test an aging battery in place and decide when to replace before it fails. That model can also test the alternator.
Different from a multimeter since it does load testing. But I think load testing is most relevant when you have a bunch of batteries sitting on a shelf for which you want to simulate various loads appropriate for those batteries. When testing your own car, it seems sufficient to just turn on the car and your actual car functions as the load... and you just test that with the multimeter.
So I would say this device isn't particularly useful for home users.
