wondering if that could be the difference, mine is still in box
Didn't say anything different, same repetition of I want to refund just the applecare part. And to the other comment, I turned mine on but hadn't yet connected it to my iCloud. But all they needed was my serial number

Not sure. I got the same thing from every agent I called which was it doesn't show up as something they can refund in their system because it's within 30 days and to go to Costco. One said Costco hadn't transferred it or whatever. But the last agent was able to cancel and didn't even ask where I bought it. Just needed my serial. I would just keep trying

This seems wrong info
This is my experience.
I've purchased this iPhone @ Costco online.
1. I've contacted Apple.
- Since this is 3rd party seller product, they cannot help me. I needed to contact Costco
2. Costco said
- This is a bundle pack. Not able to refund Applecare+
I'm returning this phone. Only black available at this place.
Carriers are offering various color and price not much different.
Telling me to go back to Costco for the refund, which I'm sure Costco cannot do much about. Anyone have more luck?
edit
looks like they 'patched' the loophole and Apple's system will not refund any Care+ that's purchased as a bundle from a third party. called 4x and finally got a very knowledgeable agent who did more research. Even after 30 days, Apple will be unable to refund the AppleCare+, its a system limitation.
the phone is going back to Costco this weekend because it's not a very 'slick' deal at all, going to wait for the 15PM

Thank you ! I chatted and agent called me . This was my second try and agent asked me to send Costco Receipt after giving serial number . She was asking me for a breakdown on the Costco receipt on how much was paid for apple care and I told it doesn't show any . She said she couldn't refund if the receipt doesn't have breakdown , I persisted and then she checked her system again and refunded $116 for my iPhone 14 plus . For the people who are asking , I didn't open the phone or activate it . They just need phone serial number and Apple ID .
Thank you for the details
Maybe it is carrier specific requirement.
I had a Jio prepaid Sim, which I converted to an eSim during my last visit to India.
Two main differences:
- 14 only supports eSim . There is no physical sim slot.
- 14 has "Emergency SOS" satellite service, which works even when there is no cell coverage. Great feature to have if you are an outdoors person.
